  1. That quote from Molitor.....does he know Polanco is out of options? Does he know they need him in the majors next year? Did he not understand his job, in a lost season, is to coach up the young guys? Ugh.
  2. If this guy starts dozens of games, and puts up numbers around "league average"......that would be great. The Twins have 2 of those right now on the roster......
  3. Put him in LF and 3B and 2B....playing 5 of every 7 games or so......but play him. Don't just let him sit around. IMO, he should have been playing in the OF in Rochester some, but he wasn't. Though, with that arm.....I think he's a 2B long term. As long as Dozier is here, not sure what to do with Polanco. .....
  4. Why compare to other HS kids......who would you rather have right now, Trea Turner or Nick Gordon?
  5. Fangrpahs also has an article on his defense.....it is not flattering.....it reads like Danny Santana, except Nunez can hit and run the bases some.
  6. "I see a league average 4th starter".....does not mean he sees that as his ceiling, but as a likely outcome......who cares if that is his ceiling. They traded a guy they don't need for a legit pitching prospect who is close to the majors. I am baffled anyone can say anything other than "wow, that's a good trade"......
  7. The prospect guy for Fangraphs sees a league average number 4 starter. That would be a great return, imo. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/scouting-new-twins-prospect-adalberto-mejia/
  8. Damn......just checked, apparently everyone else agrees on google......that would have been a lot of money in my pocket.... edit: I tried to buy options yesterday, but was not approved. I thought the earnings came out Monday, alas, they came out last night. Stock up 36$ a share.....sigh. 50% gain on the ones I was looking at....sigh....
  9. Well, it's not like he can do a lot else right now, is it? If you are going to criticize good moves, because they don't fix every problem, no one can win.... In no way would this one move change my thoughts on him, but it was a good move, and it should be acknowledged as such.
  10. I'm trying to get approved to trade options......I really want to bet on Google. All the tech stocks are beating estimates right now.
  11. Meh. Market doesn't care.....
  12. Well, it was a good move, so it has to be a plus in my book.
  13. They really need a hitting coach..... Or better players. Or both.
  14. John.....if being in the bottom third means you expect them to be bottom third in results, aren't you implying that the scouting department is no better than average, and that's ok? if your team doesn't spend big money, don't you need to be better than that to succeed over the long run? I'm pretty sure St. Louis picked in the bottom third in this time frame......
  15. This is a hard thing to judge.......because I think development plays a role also, and as John pointed out, so does draft position. I do appreciate the hard work....and will have to give some thought on how to interpret it.
  16. Like him or not, AJ is tough, and AJ keeps on playing.
  17. I have no idea. Either way, coming into a thread to say, so talking about this, is silly and rude, imp.
  18. Of course I do.....doesn't mean I have to endorse having Chargois in the minors, and three LHP in the bullpen, does it? And, why wait? Why is Duffey here, and not Berrios? Why isn't there room for Chargois?
  19. It was one I thought about gambling on last week, but I hadn't had time to look at it. oh well, opportunity lost.
  20. Other than Chargois and Berrios sitting in AAA.....yes, it does matter.
  21. Funny, there are about 10 new members this week, from what I can tell on other threads. Maybe not everyone has talked about it enough. Who gets to decide when it is enough?
  22. another great outing from Boshers last night.....but there is no room Chargois....
  23. Well, TX just traded for a SP and RP, and neither were Twins....so I think we can scratch them off the list.....
  24. That seems like an awful lot to give up for 1 SS who is good, but not great right now....doesn't it? I don't understand why the Twins do that. Profar does not make them a contender next year....so you are giving up a top end SP prospect for 2 years of a SS (when you have Nick Gordon in the minors).....
