  1. I doubt you could pay me to watch Sandler at this point.
  2. JDL is in Tampa, alas. But, hey, they have Dozier...
  3. IMO, of course, Gimenez is bad. He's not going to magically get better. Garver could be good. I'd like him in MN by June, getting used to being a MLB player, so that he's ready in a year or two, when/if the Twins are good. Rather than have him be a rookie with no experience in two years, I'd like him to be experienced in being a MLB player.
  4. Not actually. No. It isn't that easy, as you can see by reading the article. Also, TX had to convince their ownership.
  5. If he is AAA, not here, he provides literally no value at all to the Twins.
  6. If all goes well, he only plays about once a week next year also.....how many years does he stay down to avoid that, and provider zero value to the Twins?
  7. Except ESan has legit value. As does Dozier and Castro. That's about it for movable veterans. I posted that Yankee thing because it talked about rebuilding, and not trying to win when you really don't have a chance to win. If I could find the TX GM's comments on that, I'd post those too....
  8. given they had no plan B for the 4th year in a row for the OF, too long.
  9. When would you call up Garver? He's no spring chicken.
  10. Santana is old, not free, and is a FA in 1.5 years. Getting a top 20 prospect for him would be a great outcome, especially for a team VERY unlikely to make the playoffs this year, and probably next year. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/how-brian-cashman-sold-the-yankees-rebuild/
  11. If someone offered me a SP in AAA that I believed was a number 3 for the next 5 years, I'd trade ESan right now. Assuming that's what you mean by Berrios type. Gonsalves is hurt, and his stuff is nice, but not awesome. Romero has already had arm surgery. Gibson and Santana aren't young. Santiago? Who knows. Mejia? Hard to say. I'd love to have another Berrios type, assuming you mean top 20 in all of baseball pitching prospect in AAA (which is what Berrios was last year).
  12. they should 100% be trading him at the deadline unless they are in a playoff team at the time, even then, I'd consider it. This team is not a playoff team. As the Yankees showed us last year, and as TX has stated in interviews, and as the Cubs and Astros showed us, you have to be willing to trade veterans to build for the future.
  13. He also must play Danny..... Still can't figure out he is on a roster.
  14. I must report, the bourbon peach pie was not as good as the others. Good thing I didn't walk there tonight. I see Minnesota sports are as good....
  15. I will never understand pinch running for Sano like this. Two outs? On first? Do no like
  16. Look, Mauer has to adjust to situations. He seems to refuse. Buxton just sucks. I recall people telling me he was a better prospect than seager. Same people that said the Cubs and Astros were no better than the twins....
  17. In honor of this, I suggest everyone who uses gameday tonight "watch" in Espanol.
  18. Its' the same coaches and scouts. The only delta is the two at the top. Berrios is too good for the minors. He might work on a thing or two, but no one will know anything until he's been in the majors for 2 years. IMO, he should be in MN as soon as Mejia has his next bad start.
  19. I really prefer day games for game threads....have fun everyone!
  20. IIRC, it is close to late August. He's a pitcher, who has number 2/3 upside. They shouldn't be worried about service time for a pitcher.
  21. You call them polo shirts still? I wonder what younger people call them, since Polo isn't really a huge brand anymore.... I call them golf shirts now, not sure why, other than most courses require collared shirts, and collared is more syllables than golf.
  22. That's my fear. the SP are not good enough to be blamed for the wins, and not bad enough to be always the cause of the losses. A rebuilding team filled with veterans with question marks that don't have options.....
  23. As I said 2 weeks ago, what does he have to do in the minors to PROVE he belongs? Same thing as last year, he's just too good for AAA.
