that's partly because teams are passing on the great players now, since they probably won't sign. Only a handful of late picks signed for "big" money last year, IIRC.

They tire. There is another type 1 diabetic draft eligible that is falling, according to reports, (partly) for that reason. Right or wrong, that's the belief of the industry. I don't think it should be, but clearly teams do according to what I read online. welcome the site!

I'd ask, how does teh drafting of Lewis effect Eddie Rosario or Byron Buxton..... The Twins have a very good pipeline of SS right now. Lewis is 3-6 years away. Gordon could be in MN this fall if he keeps hitting like this, though I'd guess next spring.

I had no idea either, and I'm his resident fanboy here.... He doesn't give draft grades, but numbers: 5, 14, 51, 91 (rooker) (I didn't check the rest) that's a good haul for any team.

Agreed on all points. They have a real shot, that most others do not. It will be difficult to pull off, but there is hope.

You seem doubtful of that possibility, is there any track record of players developing that skill? Keith Law: I’m very skeptical. At least he has to move off short. Then you end up questioning whether you are better off with the player at 2b, where he might be an average or 55 defender, or in CF, where he might develop into a 70.
