In fairness, he can only play the guys on the roster.... Though I agree he'll defer to veterans or platoons if given a chance

Lots of teams promote rookies before they fully prove themselves. And let them work thru early struggles....

Wallner sat in AAA and watched Gallo. Utterly dominated when he finally came up. I can't think of one young guy that came up where there was a veteran in place and healthy.

People are really underestimating the impact of his work not during games, imo. I'm not a fan of the pinch hitting, but that's a tiny party of his job.

Want to speed up the development process? Give the worst teams more picks before the best teams. I've written two articles on ways to do this, that don't hurt the new players. But that won't fix teams like Baltimore and Pittsburgh that are not spending now..... While their windows are wide open.

Judging parity by the champion is meaningless to me. Parity is about teams and fans having hope at the beginning of the year, and past the halfway mark. It's not about one game for me. It's not about the vWS champion.... Face it, a lot of MLB tabs aren't trying to win it all. Bad NFL teams is about their ineptitude, not about never trying to win. I can't say that about some MLB teams. How many teams had zero hope most of the year? Zero hope of winning series? It's just not the same as the NFL on so many levels.
