  1. And a poorly constructed one. h/t Riverbri
  2. You could be right. It could be time to demote him back into the rotation.
  3. Yeah doesn't look like the inning will get to Park.
  4. Will be interesting to see who Molitor pinch hits for the pitcher this inning. If Kepler, Kepler can stay in game for Sano. If Mauer, he can stay in game for Park. All depends on what Buck does and how deep the inning gets into the lineup!
  5. CBU: tied 1-1 bottom 6th, although it feels like we're losing 15-1. I am predicting a 2-run pinch hit double for Mauer in the 7th to win the game.
  6. As Vice President of the "Baseball Player Positional Flexibility" club, I have ready kissed 11 babies this morning, had brunch, and helped judge some art for a community project. Well I'm off to a reception for a colleague's niece, so gotta go! Enjoy the game! Life as the vice president sure is taxing! Go Twins!
  7. If I could say it over again, I would say the Twins are vastly overstating Plouffe's value.
  8. I hear a chant somewhere: Mauer and Sano! The rest must go! Mauer and Sano! The rest must go!
  9. Vice President, you say? (is already busy planning a military coup)
  10. Plouffe probably makes that play too, but Sano makes it look so..explosive
  11. I will keep him around a couple more starts, just for you
  12. Nothing going right today. Except Sano at third!
  13. List of players Twins could clear off their 25 man roster right now: Buxton Dozier Escobar Arcia Gibson Nolasco Milone Fien Jepsen Just off the top of my head
  14. Brandon, I think the big flaw in all of this is how the Twins consider Plouffe a great third baseman. Yes he is good. He is nice to have. He is reliable. He is not great. But, repeat something enough times and people will start to believe it. Manny Machado is great. Nolan Arenado is great. Maybe a few others. Plouffe isn't in that group. Sano could be, primarily because of his bat.
  15. Kind of a shame. Hopefully he clears his head and comes back hitting so that this doesn't define his career.
  16. You had me at "Sano at 3rd"
  17. I think when a relief pitcher like Tonkin comes to bat and miraculously works a 2-0 count in his favor, you give him the take sign the rest of the at bat. What's the worst that could happen? And just to be sure he Tonkin doesn't miss the take sign, you yell "TAKE!" from the dugout before every pitch.
  18. Where would you have played Park tonight? Remember there's no DH in the NL
  19. Great story. Made that minor fix for you. Yes this is all a lot to take in. He was so original and did his own thing. He is an ass for not sharing his material but there were so many other reasons to love him. So talented. I like how he just started showing up random places and playing gigs unannounced. It's probably the only way he could perform in public at that point. My favorite Prince music can't be played on the radio (sorry Current), which is another thing I love because I bet it gave his labels **** fits, at least at the beginning. Uncompromising with his work. I thought seeing him at a Vikings game during the Brett Favre season made him seem human again--hey, this guy is so far above it all as an artist, but he likes a little football, too. One of a kind.
  20. Good call. You were one of the only ones. I think the issue other people have is they don't see him as part of the next team that will be very good for a number of years, and getting the teeth cut of the younger guys would be a better use of the rotation spot even this year. Although we will take Nolasco's wins as long as he is winning.
  21. Good article and finding the May 23 date. That would be the Twins typical timeline but I really hope we see a move made sooner.
