  1. I think he's just tired Still has great stuff and I want him pitching his next turn
  2. Escobar 2-9 off Sabathia coming in; has not looked tonight. Lessons learned.
  3. These foul balls, inning after inning, really are deflating
  4. Called it; Headley got a piece and fouled it Come on Jose
  5. "Badly" is debatable. I think Berrios just wanted the batters to put it in play and go sit down.
  6. So Kepler can start against lefties the rest of the way?
  7. I see we have "the human element" calling balls and strikes again tonight
  8. I think we disagree, actually. Turns out Kaepernick actually wasn't seeking out the attention (which I didn't realize) but the attention certainly found him. I know some people just want to bash him without listening to what he has to say, so, here is a link that corrects the timeline you gave, and gives some other really good background information on what the heck this is about. https://www.sbnation.com/2016/9/11/12869726/colin-kaepernick-national-anthem-protest-seahawks-brandon-marshall-nfl
  9. On the other thread, a poster with knowledge of similar situations claimed that Ryan didn't make those phone calls, either. That said, how could the Twins have handled this better?
  10. When is the surgery? Any more info they are holding back?
  11. Don't know. Stuart Turner? JRM? Catching is hard to quantify but good defensive catchers don't seem hard to find. Castro's best hitting comes in low leverage or 16-0 games. Tonight he looked pretty mediocre, in my opinion. He has his good moments too.
  12. I thought Buxton made a really weak throw, but then I remembered he is still having hand issues. Even if it was his glove hand that was injured, that could affect the catch and throw.
  13. Overrated. Teams run at will on him. Tonight he couldn't snap his throw and had to cock the arm to get velocity down to second, which takes too much time. His last throw out stealing second was last week, when the runner slid into the dirt a foot short and didn't even get to the bag.
  14. My hot opinions: 1. Castro is terrible, as usual 2. Let's revisit the idea that Buxton has a great arm. That runner should have been thrown out, or at least a much closer play More to follow as I get caught up on the thread
  15. If implemented properly, the game will look exactly the same, except with a home plate umpire who is really good at calling balls and strikes.
  16. I'm not sure this is as true as you believe it is. You might be looking at a faulty study.
  17. fixed that for you
  18. Just to be clear: Kaepernick is using his speech on behalf of victims, not playing a victim himself.
  19. Colon has been very mediocre, actually. But yes, fun to see a new hero every game
