  1. I might give a start to Slegers, based mostly on the idea that teams haven't seen him and Falvey, Pickler & Co. might be able to line up a favorable opponent and devise a game plan for him.
  2. Exactly. This is what would be nice to know. Does Molitor know about the bunting probabilities? If not, why not? Has the front office discussed this with him and is Molitor just stubborn? Are the charts wrong, and bunting actually a great thing now, and only Molitor and the front office know this secret?
  3. To stay out of the ground ball double play? It did look like a hit & run based on the weird slide and Buxton waving at a pitch three feet out of the strike zone
  4. My hot take from the game thread: Mauer led off the top of the 8th with a single, and Molitor asked our hottest hitter to sacrifice bunt. From second base, Mauer is not necessarily a safe bet to score on a single to the outfield. Cain led off the bottom of the 8th with a single, and he has been hobbled and not running well. KC saved the out and sent in their pinch runner. Runner later scored from second on a single to the outfield. Also, Grossman sacrificing early in the game like what was said in the OP. Grossman is what 6-13 since his return with an extra base hit in all four of those games. Molitor cannot call on Grossman to sacrifice there. Just can't.
  5. I can already answer that: no.
  6. Or leave Kepler in, but yeah best bet was prob Adrianza
  7. that's a lot of math http://archure.net/p/BushMath2.jpg
  8. I wish I could say the Angels are losing 53-5, but that game is only 1-0 in the early innings.
  9. Tale of the 8th inning: Twins get their leadoff hitter on base, in Mauer, a slow runner. Then they sac bunt. Royals get their leadoff hitter on base, in Cain, a slow runner (banged up right now ). They pinch run for him and save the out.
  10. yep, hurts more for those other teams
  11. good to know that's how I saw it
  12. I'm ready for a big moment Turley LOOGY sighting. Why not?
  13. why bother with anymore pitching changes
  14. let's be honest we all felt it, saw this coming tonight
  15. we call it SEQUENCING, helloo-oo?
  16. Hey -- KC put a pinch runner in for the slow guy. Can they do that?
  17. If and when this ends poorly, I'm not sure how I'll feel about it. KC smoked line drives off of Berrios all night, but somehow only had two runs through seven.
  18. I'm trying to throw a bone to the well meaning folks on other threads who say we're wrong
  19. Easy to say in hindsight, but with the 2-3-4 hitters up, I would have just let them rip it, instead of trying to small ball a run.
  20. tapper to the pitcher well, Kepler's out of the game he seems to have an aversion to the outfield wall here, so maybe not a bad thing
  21. Ok. Let's see if Mauer can score from second on a single to the outfield.
