Very possible. Like Brock said, the team doesn't need to start thinking about this until a year from now.

yes I am assuming that Mauer: 1. doesn't need the money, 2. will never play for another team, 3. may want to retire at any time, 4. Twins need $$ freed up for free agent pitching and a long term contract for Buxton if there are rules against such contracts, that would obviously complicate things.

He can play as long as he wants, but I would be pissed if he asks for a multi year deal or market price. A million or two a year. He's already made $100,000,000 million and probably not spent any of it on anything but milk and diapers.

They strike me as having better pitching too (but don't know for sure)

btw The game thread needs to go to 2,000 for that Wildcard game (knock on wood)

Way to go Goodrum letting Detroit back in the game #notReally
  8. Hosken Bombo Disco
Texas is up in their game. If they win, they will pull even with LA, at 2.5 games behind the Twins. I can't believe I just typed that.

I always said they should have hired Gardy prior to 2016

    So true. Oh well http://mymodernmet.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/archive/SLlm29yU-cu0YM9QoC5L_1082138504.jpeg

Great ballgame. Just what they needed today.

Because this is pretty clearly about Kaepernick, not anybody else.

Slept on it. Still am disappointed. 40% of our rotation consists of guys who have no stamina to go six innings and usually need to be pulled between the 3rd or 5th inning, another 20% of our rotation consists of Kyle Gibson, and the other 40% are good pitchers who are not getting wins right now, when wins are all that matter. Gonna be a bumpy ride.

Really disappointing. We needed Colon to pitch a good game today but he did his usual thing.

Also, Falvey autocorrects to "Flakey" on my phone

Falvey and Levine have a long term plan to win the World Series year after year, for generations to come, and some day we'll all look back on this and laugh?
  17. Hosken Bombo Disco
I don't know, but one option would be "not get absolutely embarrassed"
  18. Hosken Bombo Disco
What a disappointment. Bartolo, Castro, Pickler, should have had a game plan.

LaBombo in Golden Valley, call Dark Star right now. edit: you're here!

I don't think it's a conspiracy, but I think it's absolutely real. A great example would be Assembly Hall in Indiana when Bob Knight was coaching there. Indiana got every call.

As I think about it, I think Molitor should have ran out for a discussion with the home plate ump when Gee didn't get that call. Show people that you are paying attention and care about what is happening .
  22. Hosken Bombo Disco
I think so, too. However, last night it was egregious and slanted pretty much one way, against the Twins pitchers. At least two easy two-strike pitches over the plate called balls, extending at bats and innings. I don't know, man. I suppose the next game could be even worse and then it will look like we were complaining about nothing in this one.
  23. Hosken Bombo Disco
Yes. I don't think Falvey and Levine can appreciate the mental block these guys have against the Yankees. For a fan, it's infuriating. (To me, anyway) Also, a game ball to the home plate umpire last night, missing strike after strike when Berrios was pitching.
  24. Hosken Bombo Disco
Don't tell me you typed "Dellin Betances" and it autocorrected to Elaine Benes dances? That is classic!

    "Tough play"
