  1. It's only April 13th. I'd like to give Florimon until June 1st, but if Gardy wants to give Escobar or Nunez a shot, i'm game. Lets see what they got. Neither of them are as good defensively, but if they can hit, they might just cut it.
  2. Boof Bonser to Corky Miller
  3. Under I have a feeling the Twins will lose at least 2 of 3 against Toronto unless the pitching is lights out, which will be tough to do against Toronto's hitters.
  4. It's the bottom of the 8th, Twins down 1. Florimon walks, steals second, then scores the tying run. It's hard to argue with that. I feel bad for Mastro. Fastball down the middle and he couldn't put his bat on it. Either way, the Twins are playing .500 ball in April.. I"ll take it.
  5. When a hitter has a 0.71 batting average / .161 OBP, he's obviously not having nearly enough quality at bats.
  6. This is why we need Pinto in the line up!
  7. Hopefully it's just the April weather.
  8. It's bittersweet being a Florimon fan right now. He looks outstanding defensively, but terrible offensively. Obviously, he's had some quality at bats (fouling pitches off, making pitchers throw lots of pitches, taking the odd walk etc.) and is putting the bat on the ball, but he's just not missing gloves with the ball.
  9. What makes David Schoenfield the expert authority on deciding the peramiters?
  10. It's April 12th and it's cool outside (cooler than the middle of summer). I'm fine with taking a starting pitcher out after 8 innings with 106 pitches. However, if it's the middle of July, perhaps you send him out in the 9th and let him close the game out himself if he's feeling up to it.
  11. Not a terrible at bat from Florimon.. fouled a few off, made the pitcher throw a bunch, then hit it hard to right field. He just needs to start finding holes.
  12. Overall, the infield has looked pretty good this year so far. No complaints from me. Dozier and Florimon look fantastic, while Mauer and Plouffe are getting the job done.
  13. Nice play by Plouffe!
  14. Florimon's hitting this year has been non-existent so far. I'll be the first to tell you that. It's almost like he's fighting Bartlett for worst hitter on the team. However, it's still early in the season, no point getting too excited. His defense has pretty much looked mid-season form since day one. Not saying it makes up for his lack of hitting. He needs to start hitting and soon.
  15. And Florimon cleans up Plouffe's mess, effortlessly.
  16. There is no reason to rush a Dozier extension. Furthermore, he is better suited at 2nd base than SS.
  17. The annual and average attendance has gone down every year since 2010. After the 2010 season the Twins started cutting payroll and they've been a -.500 team ever since. Coincidence? I think not. There will still be lots of fans in attendance this year, but don't be surprised if another new low is set.
  18. There are a lot of exciting games throughout the season. Unfortunately today wasn't one of them. The Twins flat out got out-played at home. Fans who didn't attend today didn't miss much.
  19. Deduno earned a starting spot, but I was fine with him starting the season as a long releiver and giving Gibson another opportunity. It's obvious to everyone that Deduno is off to a rocky start, but what i'm not sure about is whether his shaky performances this season are due to him being moved to the bullpen or him just getting off to a slow start. I'm sure he'll eventually get accustomed to pitching out of the bullpen or he'll get moved back to the starting rotation. He has good movement on his pitches, he's just missing his spots too often and by too much. I'm not overly concerned at this point. It's April 10th.
  20. This is year 4 of -.500 baseball. The novelty of a new stadium only lasts so long. However, the Twins have an "easy" (or not so easy it seems) solution. All they have to do is put a product on the field worth cheering for and fans will show up (unlike other teams' fans who sometimes won't show up even if the product on the field is good).
  21. That was a slick double play by Punto and the SS.
  22. I'd put Escobar at SS before Dozier or Plouffe. Just leave those guys where they are.
  23. Suzuki is safe at home too!
  24. Oh yeah, now that they froze it.. he looks safe.
