  1. Perhaps this seems like a small thing, but I truly appreciate his ability to control his temper, never berating his teammates or opponents, and not once responding to a bad call or error or strikeout with less-than-holy language. That says so much about character. He's one of the good guys.
  2. Let us all pause to recall the painful image of Harmon K doing the splits in the 1968 ASG.
  3. Fun to see so many positive plays. Sometimes we only seem to remember the bad ones. Thanks!
  4. I've found the ability to cuss in several languages and ask "where's the restroom?" a distinct advantage in many social settings.
  5. All I know is, if a boyhood friend broke my leg, I'd make him pay. Big time.
  6. Speaking of guys the FO should go after, I think they should contact the fan who threw back Stanton's homerun ball and hit him square in the back.
  7. Astudillo rocks! He's a tough out because his strike zone is microscopic, allowing him to focus like a Jedi master on the balls frustrated pitchers eventually have to throw right down Broadway. Translation: I think he's capable playing top offense and pretty good defense for whole seasons.
  8. Good to see da boyz finishing strong. Can't remember the last time the Twins swept a doubleheader. The Mauer Moment was nice.
  9. As always, thanks, Mr. Froemming, for these wrap-ups. The game threads are getting a tad thin, so I look forward to your commentary.
  10. La Tigres did just take two of three at Cleveland, so they had that going for them.
  11. Enjoyed this game immensely. At least, what little I saw of it. I got home to turn on the game just as the Texas guy jacked the 3-run HR, and my first thought was, "6-zip. Not impossible to come back." Changed channels, came back, it was 6-1. Switched channels again, came back it was 6-3. Getting interesting. Switched again, came back just as Garver cleared the bases to tie it up. Didn't want to jinx things by watching what transpired, so switched channels yet again, and returned as Cave was rounding the bases. So I saw less than 5 minutes of baseball, but it was all wild, wild stuff.
  12. If we put him on the mound, Rosario could be our Chapman.
  13. "If the Twins don't go out and spend a bunch of $$$ for a closer, why not make it a joint effort?" Checked with Snoop Dog. He approves.
  14. Woke up at 4:30 (that's a.m.) and watched me some Quick Pitch, and what did my groggy eyes see but Rosario getting big hits for the Mets. Did we trade Eddie right after his go-ahead HR? Confusion was cleared up with a quick check of rosters. Whew. That was close. Carry on.
  15. The baseball gods simply are against us when a couple Mendoza-line heroes account for nearly all of Detroit's runs.
  16. Just stopped at home to pick up some change for work -- my wife and I run our own clothing store -- and fired up the remote to see when the Twins play today. But first the replay from last night was on, and they were just at the 7th, so was mighty fun to see how delirious everyone was greeting Joe in the dugout after his blast. Adults playing a kids game, yes, but it's a joy always to watch pure joy.
  17. One of the funner games this season. Vulture wins are sweet.
  18. Bobby Wilson -- what more can be said? Well done! Women want to be like him. Men want to have his baby.
  19. We grumble a lot, but there is real talent on this team, and last night they shined. Looked like there was more focus with every pitch and every at bat. I would love for them to finish the season strong.
  20. I really like May, as well. The thing about Hildy, though, is that of the 12 runs he's given up in the past 9.2 innings in 10 games, none of them cost us a win except for the Lindor walkoff HR.
  21. Nice to wake up and see that Rogers and FR pitched clean innings to close out the win. Mystified why the Twins struggle to beat such a bad team, but there you are.
