  1. Pick Greene Now is the time to roll the dice. If he really is the second coming of Ruth, we will have 20 years of fabulous baseball. All the rest Wright etc. are only marginally better than what they can get at picks 35 and 37. I say go for it and pick Hunter Greene. Remember, Sid said back in the day to pick Laettner over Shaq given the choice. Don't be Sid
  2. The sky is not falling. The Twins are in first place. Might even still be there in June. I agree with the point of the article. The young players are arriving finally and the coming years are going to be fun.
  3. This group looks like it finally has some guys who could make it to the majors. 11,12,13 and 14 all seem to have a future with the Twins. I have liked Vielma and have not understood how he got regulated to the no-hit ever pile. Arraez has just plain been the best hitter in the Twins system. Gratelol would be a high draft pick if he was eligible this year and Burdi still has the chance to be a big time closer.
  4. Cuddyer's comments about winning culture seem to be based on some alternate reality. The Twins have had a group that won in Rookie Ball, Low A. High A, AA and competed at AAA. He is apparently clueless about the present day Twins. It is at the Major League level where the Twins have had the attitude he is talking about.
  5. Kudos to nick nelson 6 for 6 predicting who would be added to the roster. twinsdaily keeps showing they know this team ...
  6. the stewart pick is not a good comp. if you lòk back on the draft there was no one else to pick at #4. it just was t a good draft0
  7. Well done. Nice read. It will be interesting to see if you are right about the one month time for the new guys to show.
  8. I am sure Mauer would have been ripped for sitting out. Well, he gets attacked no matter what he does. Wanting to play should not be one of the reasons however.
  9. I think the best players should be on the major league roster as long as there is a chance to make the playoffs. Sorry Rochester and Chattanooga, but you have to make a run for it when you get the chance. Buxton, Berrios and Kepler would help the major league team win. Once you are in the playoffs, anything can happen. The Twins have been in the World Series only three times in over 50 years. 45 games to play....get your best guys on the field and go for it. One streak is all they need.
  10. Kepler leads the league in average, OBP and OPS Why trade HIM?
  11. The Twins have a top ranked minor league system, lost 90+ forever and have NO rookies on the roster....
  12. C'mon Nick! I'm reading the same thing here that I am reading in the Trib. Show us the Twins Daily different stuff
  13. Perhaps that was sarcasm? I agree with Seth on both points. It sounds bad, but we don't have all the info.
  14. wow that comment seems not necessary. If someone does not believe their ideas are correct, why would they espouse them in public? Passion is not a negative quality. Not listening to others ideas is, and I have sensed no reluctance to do that by this writer.
  15. Why would Burdi wait til 2017 or 2018? He will be 22 next year with 3 yrs of college experience. He should be in AA and AAA next year, and in the Twins bullpen by Sept.of 2015 ...or sooner
  16. Nice article. It's amazing how well someone can follow Twins Minor league teams through Twin's daily. Tons of great stuff every day.
  17. Rosario has an OBP of .333 which is less than his average .348. He is 8 for 23 .348 avg, he must be 8 for 24 .333 with a sacrifice somewhere. Weird situation and shows how SMALL these sample sizes are ...and how we need to wait to evaluate....
  18. This is the same team as 2013, unless you include Presley as a big improvement. How depressing.
  19. Nice work with correlation coefficients. So how do you not give up hits? How does the bats missed data relate to this discussion? If teams are not getting good contact, maybe there are less hits. That is a little different than strikeouts. Is your spread sheet available ?
  20. I think after the surgery, Liriano had to change the way he threw the slider. It was the motion causing the arm problem Has Gibson had to make any mechanical adjustments?
  21. I agree with #5. Why not hope? If the Twins allow 100 less runs ...doable...score 50 more runs I think with Morneau and Parmalee improving.. doable.. then they will be close to 500 and 80 or so wins. The Twins won the Series with 85 wins in 1987. So why not hope? Its much more fun.
  22. The top 12 on this list could all be All-Stars. Things are going to get very fun at target field.
  23. no Parmelee?
  24. If the Twins pitch .. they will contend. If they do not get starting pitching... it will be a long summer. But they will score some runs
  25. Towles catching and on the bench versatility! jk who do you think that other bench guy might be?
