  1. Unless the player is a 32+ yr old pitcher or position player they will always cost to much for the Twins.
  2. It seems like Sano is dropping a spot or two on most peoples lists because of his start in double A, hopefully he gets it together and keeps moving up.
  3. I keep looking at the Twins SP prospects and am now im thinking they dont really have as much as we thought we did. The top guys were Meyer, Gibson, Berrios and now Stewart. Meyer is super tall and could have alot of complications with that and now hes having injury problems, some are projecting him as a RP. Gibson is 25 and has had TJ so we have no clue how good hes gonna be, Gleeman and the Geek were compairing him to Diamond and Baker. I think thats ridiculous and his cieling is alot higher. Berrios is still in low A but hes been pretty good lately. Stewart still has to play before we can say anything. I just feel like we dont have as much as we thought we did. Stewart is the only potential Ace and I have heard he doesnt even profile as an ace. Idk what to think, cant wait to see Gibson pitch on SAT.
  4. Nice I was waiting for this to come out. Im not a subscriber but atleast I got to read Buxtons profile, how many other Twins are on the list?
  5. I usualy love the Gleeman and the Geek podcasts but when I heard them compairing Gibson with Diamond and Baker I lost alot of respect for them. Gibsons cieling is way higher than what both Baker and Diamonds was. Yea Gibson probably wont be an ace but hes got potential to be a solid 2, something Diamond couldnt even dream about and same with Baker.
  6. This season I have been in alot of battles with people about Mauer vs Molina. Some people are convinced that Molina is the better overall catcher. I find that very hard to belive. They have both played the same amount of seasons and Mauer has better career averages in every single stat category, and its not close in many of them. Mauer has had 6 seasons(Not including this season) with a WAR over 3 while Molina has had 1. And 4 of those seasons Mauers WAR was over 5, Mauers career WAR is about double Molinas. Mauers Career OPS is way higher than Molinas. Even though WAR factors in overall play people say Molina is better because of his defense, yes hes better on D but it doesnt make up for how much better Mauer has been offensively and Mauer does have 3 GGs. Then they say Molina is so much better with a pitching staff and that sets him apart. He may be better(I dont think so) but that again doesnt make up for the lack of offense. I know this is dumb but if they think Molina is so much better than Mauer with a staff than why does Mauer have more Cy youngs won while behind the plate? STL has had way better pitchers than the Twins, especialy the last few years. If Mauer had the same pitchers they would be just as good.
  7. With Arcia, Hicks and Now Gibson on the team it seems like last seaons was the final chapter in a long book that had alot of ups but ended with some huge downs. This season is just the first chapter of the new book that is hopefully long and has a chapter titled: Twins win WS! I guess I will name this first Chapter: New faces in big places! Kinda cheesy but im willing to keep reading.
  8. Hey man these guys are hassleing you but I really appreciate this. I think this is now one of the best threads on this site. Keep it going.
  9. Reading these comments and being a MN pro sports fan for my whole life I can say that most of MN fans are whiners. Sorry but its true. We finaly get the news Gibson is being called up and people are complaining that they should of done it differently. Really? Come on we finaly got the news, be happy. Another thing that got me to say this was a article on the star tribune about a Q&A with the Wilds owner and fans. Most of the questions were negative. Like: How dissapointed were you with last season, Why was koivu so bad in the playoffs, how long will it take for Koivu to restore his image, Do you regret the pominville trade because you gave up so much to get him....... I was blown away by how negative all the questions were. I mean the Wild made the playoffs for the first time in years despite the fact that half of their team was new and it was a shortened season with no pre season to get chemistry. It was one of the very few times in recent history that a MN team had gone out and spent big money on FAs and made big trades to be good and all MN fans can do is whine. I hope when the Wild are one of the best teams next year they dont watch. Im not saying all of you are like this im just sick of seeing people whine when a team is going in the right direction. Instead of finding something bad about a good thing lets be happy and get excited.
  10. Hernandez shouldnt be anywhere close to a MLB team. Hes horrible to say the least! I mean he was dreadful when he was on the Twins and in ROC he has a 4.50 ERA lol. This guy just doesnt know how to pitch. He throws softer than I do(Kinda kidding but I wouldnt be suprised). Every pitch he throws is a meatball, the only good games he has is when he gets lucky when every hard hit goes right to someone. He better just pitch this game because Gibson couldnt, but right after it they should send him down and call up Gibson and just stick him in the roto and get his career going. I mean Hernandez did absolutely nothing to earn this start. Hes got a 4.50 ERA in ROC while Gibson has a 3.01 and he throws alot harder.
  11. I was wondering the same thing, they gotta move him up now!
  12. So is Buxton gonna be called up tonight or tomorrow? I mean what more could he do in Low A? Oh and good to see Sano hit a HR in AA, hopefully he can get on track and tear up the AA now.
  13. Twins do not give the customer the best product available because they dont spend nearly as much as teams that make as much as them. Over the last 4 years the Twins have been ranked 4th, 6th, 12th and now 15th in AVG home attendance. Which means over those 4 years they have been in the top 10 for AVG home attendance. But the funny thing is every year in those 4 years they have cut salary. They should be spending alot more than they are. Hopefully they are just cutting the payroll while we are in rebuild mode then when all of our prospects are up and we are ready to contend they will get some top FAs and makes some Trades to give us a shot at a WS.
  14. Man how could anyone choose one over the other? They are so good, its like trying to choose Kinsler or Andrus over in TEX...
  15. So is there any chanels that we can watch the Low A allstar game on?
  16. Yea they would of. They know Ponders cieling is super low and if they would of had a shot at RG3 they would of taken him for sure.
  17. BOOO BOOO! No CR or NB, that sucks. Pretty much all the exciting guy are on CR and NB (Sano, Buxton, Rosario, Meyer, Berrios...)
  18. Yea I heard you or someone say that on one of your podcasts but I was just saying its funny how the consensus(Everyone but twins) top 3 all went in the top 3 because that doesnt happen often. Especialy with the way the MLB draft is set up now with the spending pools. I feel like lately MN sports teams have been royaly screwed in drafts. Twins this year lost out on the top 3 by 1 pick, Wolves had the worst record but CLE won the lottery and the wolves missed out on Irving by 1 pick, Vikings lost out on RG3 by 1 pick and he would make us SB contenders right now..... I mean we have lost out on some of the best players in the league by 1 pick. But the Twins did get Buxton last year and somehow ended up with Sano because of all that controversy about his age, so I guess now were being repaid with 2 of the best prospects in baseball.
  19. Idk man I have seen multiple articles saying Sano is a true 80 Power guy and some have even said he has the most power they have ever seen and now hes hitting for a high average, so maybe until they get another really good batter behind him nobody will pitch to him? Even then he will still get walked a ton.
  20. I saw Sano had like 3 walks yesterday and now today he went 0-3 with 2 more walks, I dont know if thye just arent giving him anything to hit but hes batting .091 with 3 sac fly RBIs. His struggles are probably a combination of him making the hardest jump in the minors and the pitchers arent giving him anything to hit because they know what he will do. Buxton has been pretty solid the last few games including today where he went 2-5 with and RBI. Gibson is starting to worry me though, he keeps getting our hopes up with a good start or 2 in a row then right when we think hes ready he has another rough outing. I know 3ER in 6IP isnt horrible but if hes ready for the majors he should be lights out in AAA or atleast close to it. Maybe hes just not gonna be as good as we thought he was gonna be?
  21. I find it funny how the year the Twins have the 4th pick and there was 3 players that stood apart from the rest they all 3 went in the top 3. I mean how often do the consensus top 3 actualy all get taken in the top 3? Especialy the way the draft is structured now, I thought for sure one of the top 3 would fall.
  22. I may overreact when I say im losing all hope but come on why cant he just get it together? I mean if he has a 3.30 ERA in triple A than whats he gonna have in the majors? 4+? Its not like hes 20 years old either, hes pretty old and doesnt have alot of growing to do so its not like hes gonna get a whole lot better.
  23. Im beginning to think that Gibson wont be any better than a 4 or maybe an ok 3. I mean he just cant string together some good starts. Now today he had a really bad game just when he was at the point when we thought if he had a good outing he could be called up. It seems like he has 1 or 2 good starts then has a horrible day that sets him back all the time.
  24. Im losing all hope on Gibson, he keeps gettin our hopes up then has a horrible game like today. Today he let up 4ER in 6IP, He keeps taking a step forward then backwards. Im beggining to think he will be no better than a solid number 4 maybe a decent 3.
