    Looks like Adam Walker warmed up a bit in May. I am getting more and more excited to see Vargas with the Twins.

    These pitching numbers are very encouraging. I'm going to have to see if I can find some video of "The Thing."

    So you mean the question of "Any report on Thorpe and Gonsalves?" will now be "Any report on Gonsalves?"

    You still have to get rid of someone. There are some guys in the minors that I would rather see up here, but this isn't a video game where you can trade/send down/cut players at will no matter how much we may want that to happen.

    I would love for May and some of the other AAA guys to get a chance. How do we know if they would be better than what is currently on the Twins? Well, really the only way to find out if something is going to work is to try it. The only problem is no one has pitched consistently bad enough to be flat out released, which means someone has to be sent down or traded. I assume we aren't quite to the point in the season when teams are really looking hard for pitching.

    This is missing the point though. He reportedly isn't using his slider which is a very good pitch and it's easy to think his numbers would be better if he was using it. I don't know why he isn't using his slider. I agree with some posters that it is likely for saving his arm and it is better for his development to work on fastball and change up command. If he isn't using it for another reason, then yes the K/9 numbers might be concerning.

    There are at least a handful of pitchers at AAA that look like they deserve a chance with the Twins. That's pretty neat. Is Zack Jones still recovering from surgery?

    In my opinion, using track sprinters as an example against head first slides is a bad example. I think they don't dive for the finish line because it would be very painful, whether it is faster or not.

    Jason Kubel has two more strikeouts today so far. Any chance Vargas replaces him if the Twins let Kubel go? I'm guessing they want to give him more time in the minors.
