    That's true. I just figured if you are going to take a SS that high it probably means you expect him to stick at short. Anything can happen and I hope they draft the best player they can get.

    I think Escobar got the short end of the stick after how he performed last year. If they are sticking with Santana, then he really needs a full year out there unless he isn't hitting. That relay throw was really humming to the plate

    Starting after he was drafted last year, it seems like Mat Batts has done nothing but perform. These two were guys I was excited for before the season started and they have started out well.

    I'm also having a good day, and part of that is because Alex Meyer and Taylor Rogers had good days. I like good days

    I wouldn't have benched him during the game. I don't see what that proves. I think we need to be careful when mentioning the attitude of a person we aren't around everyday though. If Arcia isn't making these plays and is struggling offensively because of bad attitude, then he needs to be benched for some games. Personally, I don't think that is the case. This season so far has really given me a good grasp on how much defense can have an affect on pitching stats. It has to be hard for the pitchers to be confident out there with the way the defense is playing behind them.

    There have been some encouraging pitching performances by guys who aren't all highly rated prospects to start the year. Hopefully that continues.

    Simmons was ready to play when he was called up. Buxton is not. I'm not saying Buxton can't be a MLB player right now at all. I have no doubt he would do better over the course of a season than what we have right now. What's the point of having a minor league system if you aren't going to use it for players to prepare for the majors?
