  1. He has played 4 full or close to full season and the other two seasons he played a combined 92 games. (not counting his 2007 season when he was first brought up) I would not stick that much money for a guy who has played a full season every other year. Plus, if that every other holds that means 4 hurt years and 3 healthy in this contract. (sarcasm) Anyway, what makes you say he is the safest free agent?
  2. I realize we all hate pitching to contact, but Deduno is one of those pitchers who seemed to benefit from that. He induced a lot of weakly hit balls to himself or the catcher. He has 35 chances to record out in 108 innings. About every third inning a ball was hit to him, which doesnt include balls hit to the catcher. FOr reference, COrreia has 36 in 80 more innings. His walks decreased almost 3 batters per nine innings last year (6.0 to 3.4). It will depend on if he "regains" his velocity that will help him and we will see if he can be count on this year or in the future.
  3. On a scale of 1-10, how happy would you be if the Twins sign Nolasco and Pelfrey only? (10 being very happy) I think it might be a good plan E option, but I would like them to sign someone else first of course. What if the Twins sign 3 starting free agents? These two and maybe a wildcard like Santana?
  4. Terry Ryan just spent money.......thats not the same old continuing.
  5. Good Argument. Much appreciated. I hope you feel proud about your post. However, you do realize that it makes no sense right? Throwing out that story has nothing to do with Brock's post. We all want the Twins to sign someone, but we also realize this is a slow process. A time may come where we can complain about the lack of Twins moves, but it is not in November. Let's see how things work out.
  6. Dougie just tweeted that the Twins have made a two year offer to Pelfrey.
  7. He really didnt play that long at AAA (only 75 PA's). He may not have anything left to prove in the minors, but he might need some time there for his development.
  8. Looking forward to it!
  9. I too thought the season ticket thing was unnecessary. If you have an opportunity to go to the ball park you should take it. I would do anything to have season tickets if I could. I have to get over to Detroit if I want to catch a Twins game. You have good reason to get rid of your season tickets, but no need to tell us about it. At least this year, you might be able to catch some of prospects coming up! Anyway enough of that, welcome to TD! It is always good to have more people join in.
  10. We all know the Twins lack of spending, but I think this year is going to different. It has else fans will not be going to the stadium. However, I still dont think we will get Garza, but at least this year we are linked (weakly) to the top pitchers. Its a start but we still need to see results and people signed.
  11. Seth, where you do think Kepler will begin the year?
  12. There is nothing wrong with saving spots, the problem is who the spots are saved for. I think the Tigers have saved spots for their rotation and they will good again. With that being said, the Twins can't save too many spots because of how bad they were last year. However, Gibson deserves a spot because he is going to be better and we need to see if we can actually count on him in the future. I think the Twins are in a weird spot because of pitchers like Worley and Gibson. We think they could be solid but we just have no idea at this moment.
  13. I agree that the money needs to go to starting pitching, but I dont think they will spend the entire budget on starting pitching. They will spend some cash on a batter, but I am not saying that batter will anything outstanding.
  14. 1) Buxton 2) Sano 3) Meyer 4) Stewart 5) Rosario 6)Berrios 7)POlanco 8)Pinto 9)Kepler 10)Thorpe 11)May 12)Gonsalves 13)Walker 14)Harrison 15)Danny Santana 16)Vargas 17)Tonkin 18)Eades 19)Niko 20)Felix Jorge
  15. Also, Ervin seem a bit too high of price tag. I know we all want the Twins to spend, but thats a large commitment for a middle market team.
  16. I think you go with a one year plus a club option. That way if he would rebound we will have him for more than one year. And he wont be playing in Yankee stadium so I think he will improve, but how much that will be determined on the field.
  17. Interesting, I don't think Polanco will pass Stewart. I think Stewart is gonna have a good year as will Polanco. He seems to be coming on strong in the rankings and hopefully most of the op guys are playing for the Twins. (besides Stewart of course) Also, Harrison is going to have a terrible year (or traded) if he is off this list.
  18. Do you think puting Kepler in the AFL had anything to do with these 3 pitchers?
  19. I too am confused about your placement of Rogers. Why so low?
  20. Also, I am convinced that the Twins are going to trade for some pitching help. The FA market does not seem to be the best fit. Most of the FA do not want to go to a team trying to rebuild.
  21. I think the biggest part of your dream is Garza coming back.
  22. What if we get two guys with qualifying offers? Can we lose more than 1 pick i.e. next year's pick?
  23. I forgot to add when do you think I will make it to the majors. Do you see me more as a AAAA player or big league regular? I am working hard in the offseason to get to the show, but its tough.
