  1. I really like Jeffers, he starts off strong offensively & is competent defensively. He's very good in challenging balls & strikes. But he'll wane as the season goes on & not worth the QO. Twins' problem has been over-paying some players & not getting players they need. It was very easy to see the catching dilema coming but the Twins have been blind to it. For years the Twins should have invested in a young promising MLB catcher but have failed to do so. Over-paying Jeffers shouldn't be the solution for Twins' past short-coming.
  2. Thanks, Patzky, I knew Sims was going to be picked up by someone. Former team makes sense. Makes me sad how Twins takes care of their home grown players & how they take on inferior players & hope they stick. We all know how bad our BP was starting the offseason. I don't like their mostly miss & hope for a mediocre BP stragedy. That's not the way to be competitive. Good luck to Sims. Maybe the Twins finally wake up.
  3. It seems like he's making good contact but right at someone. I used to think that there's very little difference between the cOFs. So why does Larnach doesn't want to play RF? There must be a difference. So now focusing on a new RF position & Buck isn't beside him to help him might be distracting his hitting. Yet he's been doing very well in RF.
  4. Sims doesn't have amazing velo or stuff so he has to depend on smarts. It's very important to get on top of your game early in the season or you lose your edge & lag behind. Like Ober last year, they pitched him when he was sicker than a dog & he never really recovered fully the whole season. Sims was sick last year & came into this season skinny, when he got really sick they should have never pitched him. That set him back big time. Maybe they talked BP to him & maybe that didn't set well with him. IMO, it's part of Twins fault in the SWR dilema. Nevertheless, IMO, Sims can come back, even if it means temporary low-leverage 1 inning games. The rotation & BP are in shambles so it's rediculous that the Twins DFAed him, IMO, some team will pick him up.
  5. CWS have 3 very promising young catchers (I hope they don't pick Lackey). And if TB stick with a LH hitting prep star, Twins could end up with best player of the draft.
  6. I really liked Teal as a college catcher & IMO, Lackey is better. I see him making it to the MLB fairly soon & Tait is no sure thing to make it at all. It's not bad to pick according to need especially when he'll be the best player at #3. Finding a primary catcher is like finding a dinosaur, if Lackey doesn't become one especially in the beginning, that's ok. Hope the Twins find someone who can further his development.
