    Zebby has looked like the pitcher we all hoped he could be. Would be nice if it continues. Minter has been great since coming over. Very underrated trade imo. As other have said, I think resigning him would be great and would solve the need for a good LH reliever. Nance has been exactly as advertised. Not flashy but consistent. Not mentioned in the article, but saw his name in the comments...i didnt like the Hoffman trade when it happened and I like it even less now.

    I agree with most of this. Lewis needs to be replaced with a big bat 1B that can play a little defense too. That is the biggest weakness in our lineup now and in your projection. Sign a true #4 hitter to play 1B and the lineup looks a lot better. Love Keaschall batting leadoff and DH. His defense is questionable at best. Jenkins in RF works great. Strong arm. Can easily move to CF if (when?) Buxton gets hurt. CFer of the future, I believe. Buxton in CF. This is obvious until he's hurt. When healthy, he's among the best players in the league. That big bat 1B I want to sign bats 4th. Which allows Clemens to bat 5th. Very good defense and solid bat. Culpepper at SS until Houston is ready. Really liking Culpepper. Brooks Lee batting 7th, playing 3B. The team seems to absolutely love him. I dont see them batting him even 7th, but hes not the top of the order guy they seem to think he is. ERod in LF batting 8th seems like a good starting point. Could easily see him moving up the order, especially if he forces the issue. Caratini at C, batting 9th. Not a huge fan of Caratini. His defense and game calling are fine, I guess. He just doesnt do anything for me. But with drafting Lackey and Tinney, I really dont see them upgrading the position unless Jeffers surprises us all and accepts a QO. In theory, this lineup should score some runs. Another possibility that would cost less and still make the lineup better would be still trading Lewis. He should be traded. Period. Move Clemens to 1B and sign Arraez. Doesn't give us the big bat in the cleanup spot but it does give us a high batting average that puts the ball in play. With all the stranded runners we have, someone getting a base hit to drive some of them in would be a huge boost right now. We've been pretty good at getting guys on base this year. Just haven't been driving them in since the All Star break. Arraez wants to play 2B and his defense has been average or slightly above this year.

    Ive said for a long time now, trade Lewis. People replied saying he was looking great and getting comfortable at the plate and on defense...still waiting for that. Just trade him. He's underperformed for years now. How many seasons do we need to accept this? He is a HUGE reason the team is struggling. Being late to his defensive position is just another example of why. 1B is supposed to produce high end offensive results. If we had that, we'd likely have won a few more games. Kremer is what he is. A #5 starter. We have those. If we sign or trade for a top end starter over the offseason and he is a casualty of that, so be it. Id much rather see a guy like Zebby or Prielipp get a rotation spot over him. Morris and Gomez look to be getting a tired. I dont think theyre used to pitching this much in a season. Jeffers has been rough. Makes me wonder if he aggravated that hand injury and is trying to play through it.

    Someone needs to be displaced when Ryan comes back. The guy on an "innings limit" would make sense. Its very clear to anyone watching that he seems to get tired or hit harder around the 4th inning or so now. Ober has been getting the shorter leash and its mostly worked well for him. I'd imagine the decision would come down to one of those 2. Maybe they pitch them both in a piggyback type situation after Ryan returns? Let Bailey go 4 or 5 inning and have Prilipp finish the game. If Ryan is fully healthy upon returning, he is better than anyone in the rotation except maybe Bradley, so whichever guy is taken out of the rotation, it will be better for the team. Since Prielipp is on an innings limit, I suppose he would be my choice. Send him to the BP and let him take it easy the rest of the season.

    I like his offensive profile. His bat has been much better since he broke out of the slump. Baserunning still needs some work (tripping on the way to 1st base comes to minc) but hes quick enough to make up for some of it. Where I worry is his defense. He seems to be prone to some odd mistakes. Hopefully an offseason of work in the OF will clean up those mistakes. Hes a good player. I definitely like having him on the team.

    Should've been ERod called up. Last option year, we need to see how he fares against some MLB pitching. His defense would be a big upgrade over Larnach, too. Just let Buck get that surgery and get his hip right. He's not doing himself or the team any favors by trying to play injured. Will Gonzalez even play? Or did he get called up to sit on the bench? Atleast it wasnt Gray called up again.

    Culpepper got caught lifting his head on that error. Gotta make the play first. I was happy when we traded for help at the deadline. But the players didnt respond. Atleast not yet. Still a little time, i suppose, but its running out fast.

    Very rough night for Kremer. He just could not find a rhythm. Clemens and Lee with HRs. Kind of a fun little back and forth they have going on. 22 HRs apiece. Since moving to 3B, Lee has really turned his season around. Jenkins getting his 1st ML hit and walk. The moment most of us have been waiting for finally arrived. He sure looked like he belonged out there. Im hoping ERod is, at minimum, a September call up to get his 1st taste of the Bigs. More than deserving of a promotion at this point. Let him take over LF. Jenkins in CF. Keaschall in RF. Shut down Buxton and let him fix his hip. He hasn't looked right since July when he first got injured. Even if he plays, his bat has been terrible. Honestly, im ready to see a daily lineup of the future. LF- ERod CF- Jenkins RF- Keaschall 3B- Lee SS- Culpepper 2B- Clemens 1B- Lewis C- Jackson Thats a lineup I'm ready to see.

    We are right near where people figured we should be. A weak AL has us in a playoff hunt and instead of selling expiring contracts and calling up young guys at the deadline, we were buyers. Delayed some arrivals. Its been a fun year

    Very nice start from Ober. He was throwing well and absolutely shouldve been out there to start the 6th inning. Yet another game the BP gave away. They came into a tied, winnable game and made it a blowout again.

    He has become my favorite player on the team. Anywhere you put him, hes been good to great on defense. Has good power. Been a great teammate.

    I agree. Its a natural progression down the defensive spectrum. My opinion, with Buxton still being a capable CFer, I'd discuss the move with him 1st to make sure hes ok with it. I feel like hes earned that.

    Trade them both. Larnach is a platoon hitter that cant play defense. No room on the rosyer for guys like him. For Ober, the rotation already has 6 guys fighting for 5 spots before adding Ober to the equation. Plus Rojas, Festa and Zebby at AAA. Again, just no room for him with e eryone else waiting.

    His bat is usually quite good. High OBP. Hes a guy you definitely want in the lineup but man he needs to learn a defensive position that isn't going to constantly hurt us.

    The #1 team in the way of us making the playoffs is the MN Twins. If we got out of our own way months ago, we'd likely not need an article like this. The talent is here. Just too darn many mistakes on an almost daily basis. Not just on the field, the front office, too. The questionable roster decisions. The inexplicably keeping guys like Outman, Gray, etc around far to long. Its all brought us to this point. It wont matter how well of how poor other teams play the rest of the way if we dont clean up our own messes and play better baseball.

    Keaschall is just awful on defense. Its tough to watch. The bat, though. The has been quite good since he broke out of that early season slump. OBP around .400 since May or something like that? Rough day for Taj. No ABS cost us on both sides of the ball tonight. Short memory. Prielipp is up next. Let's get that W

    100% agree. Usually get jumped all over when criticizing recent call ups, so i wanted to word it differently. But definitely agree. He doesn't seem to have it.

    Its very possible. He definitely has potential. Hopefully he can harness it.
