  1. With all these extra inning games in the GCL lately, our prospects are getting extra live action practice in. I like it!
  2. (Warning: in the following post, I have quoted my own thoughts of what may have been actual words. These are not quotes you can find elsewhere, just in my brain) So Ryan was dismissed right after the All Star break which is when many trades come to fruition. TR was told a few weeks ago that he's leaving after this season, he sticks around a little while longer and two weeks before the deadline, out of the blue says "Well, if that's the case, I might as well go now!". Just two weeks to deadline! Reusse's reports that its all about PR! My thought: Who did Ryan try to trade that Pohlad said "no" about leading to Terry saying "Well, if that's the case, I might as well go now!" If Ryan was unable to make those big trades we are all hoping for, it makes no difference if Antony is in charge now or after the deadline. If TR had big trades brewing that could still happen if he sticks around, why leave everyone in the lurch?
  3. Thank you for this write up. While some are questioning your findings, this does support my "eye test". There is one exception: I did not think Dozier was THAT bad. My eye test does say, "he is not what we once thought he was". Dozier can make some great plays at times BUT all MLB players can. That's why we sit here watching them get paid...they are great just to make MLB.
  4. You did well but he was mine when he finally made it for good this year!
  5. Real nice to see DerekRodriguez putting things together lately. Hopefully this is a real start to something.
  6. Wades also up a level from the beginning of the year but his numbers had come back to Earth some before the promotion.
  7. FWIW, Kihle's debut in Fort Myers was not in yesterday's game. He played in the second half of Thursday's double header going 2-3 if my memory serves me right.
  8. If Santana is worth a couple midrange prospects, wouldn't Santana and a couple mid range prospects be worth a top prospect? Sweeten the pot. Massage the deal(s).
  9. I think you nailed it with the top two guys in their rightful places but it takes a great WHIP like Trevor's to beat Landas 12ks in 9 innings and 0.00 ERA. Apparently when Landa gives up a hit or walk, he just strikes the next guy or two out. Even better though, Trevor just doesn't put them on base in the first place.
  10. Averaging 7 innings per game, a 0.73 WHIP AND 38 Ks, Berrios makes a very strong case to be #1 though I think 2 walks in 34 innings is VERY impressive...
  11. Also signed by the Twins according to transactions page and Elizabethton roster: OF-Hank Morrison 22nd Round Mercyhurst LHP-Austin Tribby 35th Round Missouri Not assigned to rosters yet kiriloff Rortvedt Miranda Baddoo Hackimer Benninghoff Featherstone Hutcheon Grogan Gamez Beeker Cronin McGuff
  12. Brandon Lopez is on the Elizabethton roster so he must be signed
  13. I think they are done signing high school players outside the top 10. They will have 30 players signed if they finish signing all the top 20 players which is a large number and there are 3 college seniors in the bottom 20 still not signed that have to sign still.
  14. If Plouffe had been traded, Sano would have been at third and Arcia would have been given a better look this year. If these had been his numbers with double or triple the playing time, then fine, time to cut bait. Unfortunately, Arcia was not given much of a chance this year to bounce back so I am upset. I love Arcias passion. I love his raw energy and emotion. Our team needs more of that. I love his home run power and what he did as a rookie. He had many flaws and I understand managements frustrations but he was so young and raw. SMH, *sigh*
  15. I too have moved on to Palka though I have not given up on Walker. If he can be more capable of taking a walk than Walker (ironic name in that situation), then it becomes Palka > Walker.
  16. I had the same question. Thanks for asking and thanks for the answer. That makes more sense.
  17. I love all of this. In the mean time I would consider firing Molly. It appears from the outside like he and Ryan are not on the same page (Meyer, Polanco, Kepler fiascos) Offer Dougie baseball the interim slot and the right to move some pieces around. If he can get significant improvement from the pieces, you have the future manager, if not, you look outside the organization this off season. I would also consider Gibson for a trade and I still like May as a starter. If Hughes is still around, he's in the bullpen unless he had an incredible turn around himself.
  18. I made the statement a few years ago: Losing team, get better players Still losing, get better Manager Still losing change GM. We have followed this path. This was my line of thinking in defending Ryan previously and Last year the club seemed to be coming together so I advocated giving Ryan another year. At this point, I'm ready to see Ryan step aside and really hope the club is looking at filling that role now to be hired at the end of the season. Someone on a separate thread discussed why it's not the right time to change GM in the middle of the season and I remember being convinced they were right but now I forget Why I was convinced. Maybe now is a good time to change and audition one of the internal guys (Like Torch got with the wild) give him the job of firing Molly and appointing an interim Manager, see how he handles the draft, international signings, and trade deadline and if he sucks at it, quickly swoop in and hire that outside guy you have been secretly watching for 4-5 months when the season ends. He can hire the new permanent manager. I don't get fed up with what's going on easily. It's baseball and baseball takes patience, but Mollie is failing us and TR hired him. That is on him. I'm ready to move on.
  19. I was being a little snarky and sarcastic this morning. I do not think a lot of people have realistic expectations on how to run the team. Way too many knee jerk reactions around here this year...
  20. And let's not forget what May did as a starter last year! Starting Rotation: Berrios, Meyer, Duffey, May, Nolasco Bullpen: Milone, Hughes, Abad, Pressly, O'Rourke, Fien, Jepson
  21. I think Wade needs to go up a level sooner than later based on his hitting. He's putting up video game numbers again but that would mean moving other pieces higher up the food chain who may not be ready for those moves. Scouts really don't seem to think he's going to be able to continue to hit at higher levels. What does he need to do to change those reports? Seeing him thrown out going from second to third with one out and no one on first Saturday made me question his base running. Is that an aberration for him or is that an area he needs to work on?
  22. It's about fielding the best team but before the MiLB draft, a lot of things will happen and it will be fun to read all the reactions here. With so many "Prospects" we have the club that can trade for a real MLB piece without hurting our future significantly, But I am sure every move will be met with cheers and complaints. Game on TD!!
