  1. The only veteran hitter listed is Clemens (not counting randoms). Sorry Buck, it's hard to lead by example when you're in the trainer's room or on the DL one hundred games a year.
  2. "Clemens was playing stellar defense and hitting when at first."
  3. I just hope for his sake, he gets rid of all his demons. The talent is in there. I hope he can unlock it while he's still a Twin. If he does after the Twins let him go, I will root for him.
  4. Totally off subject, but I want to apologize for being disrespectful to you, it was one of those days. I do agree with you on this take, Buck is way too comfortable.
  5. That still hurts, he was on his way until he got hit by "the pitch". Reletively ending a promising career.
  6. Keep him, injuries happen plus I think it would be cool to pitch him right after one of our flame throwers and really mess up the other team's timing.
  7. I really hate repeating what I had previously written: Cody Clemens should be the first choice within the Twin's organization. He's under control through 2029, made a base salary of $800K this year, as of the end of May he led all of MLB in Runs Saved at 1B, he's a ballplayer, a good club house guy, and hit for power.
  8. I was kind of projecting for when Houston takes SS and Culpepper 2B. I want to see that out of spring training. That will be a strong infield. I hate the mid-season call-up (which never happens, and if it does, they aren't ready). Strong out of the gate, and if it doesn't work, back to St. Paul.
  9. With all due respect, I truly believe with Keaschall's athleticism he will be great in the outfield (someday). Plus, a first baseman has gotta pick it, based on his 2B, I don't know if he can.
  10. I agree with everything you said, but I will add that Clemens is 2.6 WAR, hit 26 homeruns, led the league till the end of May in 1B defense. I don't know why everyone leaves him out?
  11. We've been backed into a corner, that the management painted, we have no choice.
  12. BTW, as of now Cody Clemens currently sits at 2.6 on fangraphs. He is our 1B next year.
  13. To Harmon, what is your solution, and why?
  14. Do we really want to play roulette with the DH? What happens when of the four mentioned goes down? Batting DH is not necessarily a "breather". but can take a fielding player out of their rhythm. Bell is the consummate DH. Bell was also in the top three of almost every hitting category for the Twins. For his production, he was very affordable. Also, he is a clubhouse guy.
  15. Cody Clemens should be the first choice within the Twin's organization. He's under control through 2029, made a base salary of $800K this year, as of the end of May he led all of MLB in Runs Saved at 1B, he's a ballplayer, a good club house guy, and hit for power.
  16. The most glaring part of McDaniel's assessment is what the Twins don't have. There isn't a single player in Minnesota's current core who qualifies as an elite player. Byron Buxton is the lone player in the Plus category. McDaniel views him as a player capable of providing roughly 3-5 WAR value, but the Twins don't have anyone in the elite tier. The Solid category is much more crowded. That group includes Taj Bradley, Walker Jenkins, Vahn Lackey, Kaelen Culpepper, Luke Keaschall, Brooks Lee, Kody Clemens, Marek Houston, Connor Prielipp, Emmanuel Rodriguez, Royce Lewis, Riley Quick, Hendry Mendez, Khadim Diaw, Zebby Matthews, Andrew Morris, Mick Abel and Kendry Rojas. There's certainly talent there. Talk about a SSS! Except for Lewis (I still have my fingers crossed), we have a lot to look forward to.
