  1. Behind the scenes pics of the producers of this show. Make of it what you will.
  2. I read somewhere that Trump said he did not know of this - which I am not sure if that makes him look better or worse (relatively speaking), not that I necessarily believe him regardless.
  3. I think the new whine line thread needs to get its feet on the ground a bit before you throw out something like this.
  4. This is not a quote from Paul Ryan on the proposed health care replacement, but I am sure Ryan, Trump, Pence etc. will take these words to heart. “There is no mercy in a system that makes health care a luxury ... This is not an act of mercy; this is an act of malice,” http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/joe-kennedy-paul-ryan_us_58c04fe5e4b0d1078ca369cb
  5. I am confident everything is going to go smoothly this season that this thread will just be collecting dust. I anticipate some activity when we blow game 4 of the World Series and miss out on a sweep victory.
  6. Last season (and much of 2012, 2013 and 2014), it was usually preferable if the game did not get brought up at all.
  7. The push by Trump and the GOP congress to repeal the ACA is really bringing out the best in some people... The effects of this election are going to be felt in many ways for a long, long time. I think even Jesus would slug this guy: Representative Roger Marshall is a Kansas Republican, a former obstetrician, and a first-year member of Congress, and opponent of the Affordable Care Act. In an interview with Stat, Marshall draws upon his medical experience to explain why the law’s expansion of Medicaid is a bad thing. It is quite an interesting explanation: “Just like Jesus said, ‘The poor will always be with us,’” he said. “There is a group of people that just don’t want health care and aren’t going to take care of themselves … http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2017/03/obamacare-repealer-explains-poor-dont-want-to-be-healthy.html
  8. WW III will be in full play by then and people will be focused on other things? [and yes, Ryan and the rest of the ghouls will survive the midterms...]
  9. I now feel like I killed the thread, unless people are now feeling good about the President and how great he is for the country and the welfare of the world in general and that is what is leading to the slowed down thread activity. I know warning the GOP of a bloodbath at the 2018 elections if they don't pass his healthcare bill is a sign of a true leader.
  10. Texas knew. A TEXAS high school student and his mother recently called attention to a curious line in a geography textbook: a description of the Atlantic slave trade as bringing “millions of workers” to plantations in the American South. https://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/22/opinion/how-texas-teaches-history.html?_r=0
  11. I have seen Sarah Huckabee a couple of times now as Trump's spokesperson. She does not have Kellyanne's sugar does not melt in my mouth while I lie while talking in an innocent girl voice. She tries to do the same deflection tactics, but seems much more rattled and uncomfortable. Superficial addendum -- I think she might have also inherited her father's crazy eyes.
  12. The GOP will probably order ten investigations on the alleged wire tapping without substantive evidence and continue to hem and haw about investigating ties with Russia.
  13. I actually thought his wanting to implement a new agency focusing on focusing on immigrant crimes was a bit chilling. He really is stirring up the fear of people who are not white or orange. I was talking to someone of Mexican heritage yesterday, and he said he felt uneasy living here for the first time, and he was born here. I feel bad for the widow of the Navy Seal who died in Yemen. She is obviously in great pain right now. I did find it a little disingenuous of how Trump used her when just a few hours earlier he was still shirking any responsibility in the raid passing it off on the generals, when it was revealed he did not even bother to be in the situation room when it was occurring. I could not actually watch the speech on TV, because I could not handle the smirking faces of Paul Ryan and Michael Pence perched behind him.
  14. Weird - I have not seen a tweet by Trump calling Fox out on this.
  15. Trump said this today: “Nobody knew that health care could be so complicated.” I knew, and I am not that bright, and definitely was not running for president where that was a hot button issue.
  16. It is hard to believe it has already been a year since we got to experience the Sano in the outfield experiment. In retrospect, that was probably not a wise decision.
  17. Here is a picture of the first French Restaurant Chief tried. He was at the grand opening.
  18. Ironically, there are probably more people who want to partake in that weed more than ever right now...
  19. I am pretty sure this is not a good sign of things to come (except for AP and Time boycotting out of solidarity). Jeremy DiamondVerified account ‏@JDiamond1 Follow More The WH today handpicked which outlets could attend an on record briefing w/ @PressSec. Excluded CNN, NYT among others. AP & Time boycotted
  20. Nope, you did not miss anything. Perkins tweeted yesterday that Mauer shot an albatross on one of the holes (I think got it in the second shot). Trump has been out with Tiger and Rory McIlroy, because as much as he likes to slam the celebrities, you know he wants to be seen and be liked by them. I was (weakly) joking, since Mauer had the good shot that maybe Trump would invite him to golf with him. IF that happened, I would more likely stop being a Mauer homer.
  21. Someone handed these out a CPAC today. Problem is most people accepting them and waving them did not realize this is actually the Russian flag. They had to have people quickly collect them. Sounds like Trump was still in campaign more - fake media bad, anonymous sources fake media, got the crowd to chant locker her up, wall ahead of schedule, America first not leader of the globe etc. Supposedly going to Palm Springs this weekend and will be part of a GOP fundraiser. That is four out of four weekends if he makes the trip. I am sure he will find another pro golfer to bring on the course Maybe he will contact Mauer after his albatross yesterday. If that happens, I might have to stop being an Mauer apologist. http://www.thewrap.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/donald-trump-cpac-russian-flag.jpg
  22. It would not completely surprise me if Melania hated him more than anyone on this board. http://cdn.inquisitr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Body-Language-Melania-Trump-Donald-Trump-40.jpg
  23. I suspect that they have they did something stupid in those couple of days, but the stupidity does not get as magnified when someone locks up Orange Voldemort's phone. I am fairly confident with CPAC going on, there will at least be a lot of stupid things said. They do seem to be very fluid about what is a state issue and when they want government interference. However, I am not sure how transgender rights should be left to the state. If civil rights issues were left for the state to determine, I think Jim Crow, miscegenation laws etc. might still exist in a few of the states, if they were left as a state's rights issue.
  24. Fake diary! (OK - now I feel guilty for using Anne Frank for a weak, stale joke).
