  1. This is the other baseball forum.
  2. Can you elaborate on why you think Russo is a hack? I understand its a subjective thing, but I can't understand this opinion.
  3. No. Alvarez is a legit prospect. A lottery ticket from our system, just for reference, would be someone like Lewis Thorpe. IMO, DeLeon AND Alvarez/Bellinger is already an overpay by the Dodgers, and Falvey better be careful he doesn't sour the deal quibbling for more.
  4. At least we'll get Hulk Hogan on the nickel.
  5. Russo is a beat writer.
  6. Thibs is a bigger fraud than Brewster. I wasn't expecting 50 wins, but this is just getting pathetic. Team was far better with Sam Mitchell and they are a year older and more talented now.
  7. The Dodgers are offering DeLeon plus Alvarez and the Twins are haggling for more? Why? This is like walking away from a multi million dollar real estate deal because you don't like the mailbox.
  8. Well if you have listened to Russo when he fills in on kfan, he most definitely has a life outside of his job.
  9. Lavelle defends every single Twins move, and even gets super defensive when people (on kfan or Strib live chats) even criticize any decision. I get not wanting to be constantly negative, but there comes a point when you lose credibility.
  10. I don't know if any of this will come true, but it is a reminder of the counterpoint to the many posters who insist that we have all the power and we should hold out for the best deal possible. You do that for too long and there is a chance that you let the best possible offer walk away from the table. They don't always come back. At some point they do say this is our best offer, you have 24 hours or we are moving on and not coming back.
  11. And with those additional months could also come a torn UCL, another positive test, or a 5.40 ERA. I'm not saying you play scared and take the first offer that comes along, but I think there is a ton of risk to holding onto him.
  12. If this guy has so much value as a potential #5 starter, then why did nobody else want him? Number 5 starters can be had at any time. I'd rather shoot for something better, even if it's likely to not pan out.
  13. I'd be shocked if the Dodgers would even consider that deal. If they would, you obviously take it.
  14. Too lazy to click. Did you find 30 million in gold bars?
  15. And if this team keeps everyone thinking they can compete with a couple minor tweaks I'm going to be pretty bummed. Again, the old regime could have done that.
  16. I have to say I was hoping for more of a boom/bust upside pick rather than some soft tosser. The old regime could have made this pick.
  17. CF. 90 million of surplus value vs. Dozier's 60 million.
  18. Man that thing will never get old. First, Bush executes his ducks perfectly. Second, the look on his face is priceless. There is no fear or anger, or even annoyance. The look on his face says, "ooh I LOVE this game!" Third, the other guy tries to block the shoe and totally whiffs.
  19. Agree. I see lots of posters excited at what the Eaton trade could mean for the Twins. But I go the other way. Eaton has roughly 50% more value than Dozier, so I can't see us getting a comparable return for Dozier.
  20. Right, the Angels probably said we don't want it, we'll just take cash.
  21. I'm pretty sure they just call up the other GM's until they get to one that says they will take Haley if he's still available and then offer that GM the first pick.
  22. I'm not adamant. I suggested that I'd like to see more of him, that is all. Hopefully Dunn can keep playing well and it won't matter.
  23. The odds aren't good that Palka or Granite will ever be starting caliber corner outfielders.
