  1. Well, to be fair, when you're the executive chair in charge of day to day leadership....if you aren't the owner, you're in charge of carrying their directive.
  2. Wasn't the end of year presser where Joe basically said that payroll might need to come down and then after the presser a twins official, made it down to the reporters to say that's not accurate....payroll doesn't need to come down. At that point it's not rumors.....straight up indecision from the owner.
  3. Reviews future payroll projections.....um, I guess this won't work. Thanks tho.
  4. I'm not following this paragraph in the article. I'm reading it to mean if the Twins add brooks Lee to the 40 man and call him up....if they later want to send him down he goes thru waivers but that doesn't make sense. Here is the paragraph. What am I mis-reading? First, if a player is in the minor leagues but is not on the 40-man roster, the team is not using one of his options. However, if he is called up to the major league team, and thus added to the 40-man roster, the team can only send him back down by exposing him to waivers.
  5. I'm amazed at the amount of criticism of various nature that people have for an announcer. They talk too much. Not enough. Too excited. Not excited enough. They once said a players name wrong in the 3rd inning. Ugh. The game is supposed to be the entertainment Not the person talking about it. Sad to see Bremer get shown the door.
  6. Stealing significantly more bases I think is going to be a challenge when you look at our roster. Our shortstop is self-described as slow as F. Our 2nd baseman(s) are aging with injury history and younger with below average speed. And our front office likes slugging corner outfielders. And if we are super lucky our center fielder is fast as F but injury risk isn't worth the stolen base benefit. With the right players healthy I think we can see an uptick in stolen bases but I wouldn't expect much more than that!
  7. Always blows my mind how few of games they get in the year they are drafted. 26 games. Joey Gallo was probably in the running for MVP after 26 games.
  8. Except twins had 47 or so players on the 40 man counting the 60-day guys. Then they will need to add guys to protect against rule 5 draft....it seems to be a pretty light year in that depth for the Twins but regardless they will be right up against the 40 man at some point this off-season
  9. They can't keep him on the 60-day all off-season he will have to take up a spot on the 40 man before the rule 5 draft. No need to rush Lee to the 40 man, he will be on it at some point next season but it won't happen before then.
  10. When are contracts tendered to arb eligible players? I'm just wondering if most of the unlikely guys are 40 man roster casualties more than anything. For example, I think nick Gordon is left in the cold cuz he's out of options...he has to break camp on the 26 man. For that reason I'm thinking he will end up being booted from the 40 man at some point in the off-season.
