Offense took the SD siesta in the middle of the game and Prielipp has already coughed up the lead. Might as well let him get as many outs as he can get. He's essentially his own bullpen help since Shelty can't get a guy in fast enough to rescue him.

Looks like I missed a lot of action from watching my nephew play football as Friday Night Lights have started! The Twins were generous in giving up the HR to our old friend Ty France.

And Bryce Harper moved to the outfield to create a space for Bohm at 1st to get Arraez as well. I believe the point that was attempting to be made was that the Phillies are willing to move players to include a player that they believe will help them in a stretch/playoff run. That may be the true answer here is that Zoll, Shelton, and the rest of the staff does not believe that Jenkins will provide the spark that many of us on TD believe he would.

Great article! This is what I've been seeing watching the game. I think Royce has found his position now and it is up to Shelton to just leave him there. Royce will still make errors. Royce going for that ball against the Braves yesterday instead of running to first, although Funderburk didn't exactly run to first either on the play. His brain freeze in Seattle would be another example. I've said at the time and will still say now that is all part of the learning process. It would have been nice to see what could have happened had they pulled the trigger on this in the offseason and given Royce a full offseason to get his footwork and situational awareness right at the position. When they interviewed Shelton about the early lineups, he didn't want to make wholesale changes until he saw the team on the field. We have seen the results once they made the necessary changes.

At least they have quit putting up the run expectancy bug when we are bases loaded. Was even more depressing to know how many runs we were supposed to score. -

Working today. Last I checked in, we were ahead 5-1. Box score suggests we left Kremer in too long. We also may be finding out why we don't throw out our better pitchers in a blowout game.

That's the final step from being a pitcher vs a thrower. His stuff is good enough for AAA and many ML lineups because he can get batters to chase that stuff. As stated earlier tonight, when the Phillies spit on all those chase pitches, he didn't have the command to get back in the zone. I think he will do it. He will have to trust his stuff rather than try playing off the junk.
