  1. I've been listening to the AZ radio broadcast this afternoon. They have been impressed with our defense so far. They also love the young man on the mound giving them a chance to win today. Every tendency seeming to work against the Twins today. Somewhat surprised Paredes is still out there. He has seemingly hit his typical pitch limit.
  2. This may be something to consider. The MLB banned the shift for the 2023 season. Prior to that, the Twins were one of the most shift-happy teams in the MLB. It allowed them to use poorer fielders since they could shift them to where they would be the most efficient and concentrate on their hitting. Since they can't do that anymore, we now have a group of young, poor fielders that we need to cycle through our system. Our pitching has subsequently suffered due to the poor defense in the field. We have seen some improvements. Sizemore has definitely helped Larnach become a serviceable OF. He'll never win a GG, but he makes fewer errors in the field than he used to.
  3. That seems to happen with any baseball team it seems. I listen to some sports betting podcasts (I don't bet as I have enough expensive vices). They always seem to bet the under on a team total whenever there is an offensive output like the Twins had last night.
  4. I can see both sides. Buxton is your best hitter so you need to trust him to get the runs in. On the other hand, you watch him swing the bat lately and you think that Jackson should have been sent. I'm not sure about what the numbers would suggest, but my eyes suggest that Buxton has better AB's when he is in the field. I said this at the beginning of the thread. I thought Bell would be better in the lineup today than Buxton. If Buxton isn't going to be in the field, he should just get a straight day off.
  5. Little surprised that they had Kreidler running with Fedko at the plate. Sometimes a player dancing off of first affects a young hitter's vision in the box.
  6. They sent Preilipp out in the 6th on Friday night after running into similar trouble. Although, that was defensive induced, not self-induced like Paredes' effort is today.
  7. I assume that Paredes is still in bulk pitcher mode where he has a limit of 60-70 pitches? If that is the case, he is almost halfway done with his outing.
  8. Paredes taking the Lawrence approach. Can't give up hits if you walk them all in.
  9. There's a rumor that Manfred sold our next Sunday game to Unilever vision for a Klondike bar.
  10. Interesting that they would hold Bell out of the lineup as good as he is at the moment. Maybe you give Buxton a full day off rather than DH. Caratini makes sense as it's a day game after a night game. Many of us have wanted to see a more consistent lineup with the youngsters playing more and less reliance on platooning. This is that type of a lineup. Also, Fedko out there instead of Martin may signal a shift where Martin is getting closer to a trip down the Green Line.
  11. Our calls have finally been answered. May have helped he couldn't complete one inning, throw 40 pitches, and tried to bring the D-backs back into the game all by himself. Kendry Rojas comes off injured list; Twins DFA Justin Lawrence On a note about today's game, AZ projected starter, Jose Cabrera, has only made 12 minor-league starts this year. Nine in AA-Amarillo and three in AAA-Reno, including a line of 6 IP, 0 ER, 6K's in his last start. Impressive in a hitter-friendly league such as the PCL. It would be just like the Twins to make this pitcher look good on a getaway day when they are going home. Who is Jose Cabrera, and why is he starting for the Diamondbacks on Father's Day? - Arizona Sports
  12. At least he could find the strike zone. He must have watched Dora the Explorer.
  13. I hate bringing out someone you trust in high-leverage situations here. He gives up a couple of runs and kills his mojo when we actually need him the next time.
  14. You're right. Lawrence would have all those poor kids crying and scared to go in the batter's box since he would be beaning those poor kids with all those bad 90 mph splitters.
  15. Nah. Shelton likely has better control. He may actually hit him.
  16. Can there be a recording of Gordon Ramsey chasing people of the kitchen that is given to Lawrence. Just get out! Out!
  17. I was half right. He gave up 4 runs. My timing was off in thinking he could get through 3 innings.
  18. And Gomez will get the save because the bases will be loaded and the tie game will be at the plate.
  19. I don't think he will make 3 innings, especially nearing 30 pitches with only one out.
  20. That has to make Tawa feel great. Everyone is walking because Lawrence can't find the strike zone and I'm the person that has to swing the bat.
  21. Abel went back down again. It was announced before the game that he is having an MRI and being sent back to Minnesota. Rojas traveled with the team so he would be our hope in replacing Lawrence on the team.
  22. I just watched a YT video with old friend Trevor May. He was giving instructions to one of his video editors on how to throw a proper baseball. His editor had better command in 20 minutes of instruction than Lawrence does right now.
  23. Lawrence has an 11.81 ERA with the Twins. That is 1.31 runs/inning. If he keeps to his standard, he'll give up 4 runs in 3 innings and we can still win the game!
  24. They did say that Rojas was on the road trip. This would be a great game to send out Lawrence, let him stay out there and try to get an old-fashioned 3 inning save. Then DFA him so we can bring Rojas back to the team.
