  1. Sorry Gray fans, he doesn't make that transfer fast enough to get Ohtani.
  2. Nice contact from Lewis. Two strikes. All you're asking for is a chance.
  3. The walk concerns me more than the home run. The HR was just a poorly placed pitch. The walk means his day should be about done.
  4. Keashall is living dangerous with those ABS challenges. They're working, but I'm not sure I would have used them there.
  5. You take that name out of your mouth! 😛 We don't want him anywhere near a Twins minor league park. That gives Zoll too many ideas of thinking he can bring him back if someone gets hurt.
  6. I hope Perkins goes in the booth during the commercial break and gives him some grief. Tell him that his pitcher depends on him making that play.
  7. Zebby at 74 pitches. Not sure he will get past the 5th inning. Then it's time to spin the Bullpen Wheel of Regrets.
  8. Like it that they are making the Dodgers pitchers work tonight. Hopefully it pays off the later we go in the game!
  9. I could see it. Likely going to be one of the best attended series of the year and would make the loudest statement. I never heard whether they actually were going to strike. Cody's article this morning suggested they hadn't made the final decision yet on whether to strike today.
  10. Klein is a reliever. Maybe they are using an opener with Lauer as the bulk pitcher? Klein is a RHP, which wouldn't make as much sense with the top of the lineup lefty heavy for the Twins.
  11. Out of town score update. Outman still doing Outman things for the Motor City Kitties. Striking out on a pitch 6 inches outside the zone with two outs and two runners on. But the Kitties are doing better. Swept the White Sox over the weekend and have already pegged 3 runs, 6 hits, and 66 pitches on Cole and the Yankees in the top of the 4th.
  12. Some Twins updates per Dex on the Skor North Twins Show: 1. Jeffers caught a bullpen session and is starting to swing a bat but not take BP yet. Estimation is still weeks away. 2. Abel did get imaging done but nothing has been released as of yet. 3. Walker Jenkins is off of his rehab and now with the Saints. 4. Marek Houston has been promoted to Wichita. 5. Roden was named the International League's Player of the Week. Maybe they see if he can keep the hot bat going and how well he can play every day before promoting him. With Fedko up and Martin seemingly playing himself out of the 26-man roster, Roden may be next player up for bids on the Twins' version of the Price is Right.
  13. Sometimes you go with the hot bats. Larnach and Clemens have the hot bats right now. I questioned why they kept Bell out of the starting lineup yesterday with his hot bat. I'm going to stay consistent and say ride the bats. Also, Lauer is 1-0 in 4 starts with the Dodgers with a 3.22 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP and the Dodgers have won all of his starts. Seems to be performing better with that lineup behind him.
  14. I think it is currently Schlitter's to lose at the moment. His performance has been great, and he pitches for the Yankees, which always gives that extra boost that is hard for other contenders to overcome when all things are equal. As for Ryan potentially being traded affecting his Cy Young contention, if he stays in the AL, his candidacy likely boosts as he will be pitching for a playoff team down the stretch. If he is traded to the NL, he likely won't be able to compete with the horses in the NL. Joe Ryan definitely has a chance to win it. It would help if the Twins finished near .500 (within 5 games) and stayed in the playoff race until near the end of the season.
  15. I have an odd question for the people who live in MN and go to multiple games from all of the sports. Does Delaware North handle all of the venues, or just Target Field?
  16. Great article Cody! This is always a subject that can bring on some policial views. You covered it with straight reporting, describe the impact it can have to the potential fan experience at Target Field going forward, and give what each party is stating in public and what they are looking to get out of negotiations.
  17. Even if he would be defensively, he is not the future. Luke may not be the future either, but he is closer to it than Gray. This year needs to be a team that will sink or swim with it's prospects/youngsters.
  18. Interesting since Del Castillo is the only true LHB coming up. I guess he is the likely the most trusting pitcher we have left in the bullpen.
  19. We survived the 8th. Now to figure out who is going to pitch the 9th. Banda maybe? Gomez goes batter by batter?
  20. Here is where using Gomez last night could hurt us. Always seems to be the case when you bring in your "closer" for mop up work and then you will likely need him the next day. At least his night last night was fairly efficient.
  21. The D-backs have caught the Twins base running bug*. EDIT: base-stealing bug. Actual base running has been pretty good lately.
  22. I didn't watch the play. If they allowed Bell to score on the error, why didn't they allow Jackson to go to 3rd?
  23. They have switched the Larnach misplay to an error. It was originally ruled a hit.
  24. AZ broadcaster: "It's hard to get a ball past these infielders." Me watching Twins baseball all season: Do you not have an MLB.TV subscription? Watch a few more Twins games. They have more holes than all the Swiss cheese that that Swiss store in their cellars.
