  1. I can understand the logic since IKF is a RH hitter and not a switch hitter, but it was clear Morris couldn't find the strike zone.
  2. Like the decision by Kreidler as well knowing he wasn't getting two. Too many infielders try to rush that exchange and drop the ball and get none.
  3. I don't mind the role that Rojas is in currently. Being able to go multi-inning relief is what the current MLB demands. We have found many of good starter toiling in long relief and he still gets the pressure of getting into and out of jams, like a starter. I don't think this was a piggyback situation. If it was, I would have expected SWR instead of Rojas.
  4. For all of Gaper's faults, I do believe he was the best bunter for the Twins last year.
  5. They have moved games up. I've remembered that the Twins have moved games up to adjust to impending weather. I think it will matter whether they think there is any window tomorrow they can get the game in.
  6. Here's our bullpen report. Would have liked to see a double header just to see if a reliever would plunk Contreras. My money is on Adams since he went pretty far last night.
  7. Bello looks like Boston's version of SWR. Seems like he cannot recover from mistakes, although it's not all his fault. The Boston infielders have reverted back to their Little League days.
  8. Call stands! I figured that's what it would be no matter what the call was on the field. If the call was out, it likely would have stood as well.
  9. That's one where you remember and if, someone like Larnach for example, blows up Connor Wong at the plate. It's not Wong's fault, but he should blame Contreras for the altercation. He is trying to write checks that he is not willing to pay. At least when Pierzynski was a jerk, he would back it up.
  10. A little more height and he could have wrapped that one around Pesky's Pole.
  11. Love the AB by Martin. Not HR hunting. His shift back to his Vanderbilt days are working. It really does look like the coaching staff is trying to work with some of these players tools rather than trying to make everyone a HR hitter. Under an old Martin swing, that swing is a line drive out.
  12. I wonder where Lance Barksdale is since he is the crew chief of this crew. Here's hoping she gets a few more assignments and moves up the pecking order to being a regular MLB ump!
  13. More positive news this morning! It looks like that Zoll is not as committed to old washed-up players that needed to be DFA'd as Falvey was. To bring back Taj Bradley, they DFA's Garcia from the bullpen. I had fully expected them to send down Rojas or Adams since he pitched last night and that is typically the easier move. It does look like LaTroy Hawkins's message is reverberating with the younger guys in the bullpen.
  14. I guess we will see who will be off the roster tomorrow if Bradley comes back. Sounds like he is scheduled to pitch tomorrow. I would like to see Garcia be DFA'd. Adams was the only pitcher with options who came in tonight so he may get the short straw, but he does get the win!
  15. And one of their save leaders isn't even on the team anymore.
  16. Keaschall made his redemption. I know it should be routine, but he still has to feed the ball correctly for the double play.
  17. That's what I was afraid of in real time was he got hit square in the face.
  18. I don't mind that challenge. It's the bottom of the 8th. You need to keep that run off the bases.
  19. The odd one was listening to KSJB, AM 610 out of Jamestown, ND when I was little. When Darin Erstad played for the Angels, they broadcast Angels games. It was hilarious that they would play a parody version of George Jones's song Finally Friday, obviously on Friday morning.
  20. Out here in the far western part of Twins Territory it was 1060 KGFX from Pierre, SD or if it was a cloudy day, 570 WNAX from Yankton, SD. One of the few stations left with the starting 'W' west of the Mississippi River.
  21. Tolle looked shaky in the second. Now he looks like he can get a quality start.
  22. That's what my rampant speculation would think of as well. Either they think Culpepper is close or Kreidler is a better SS and they want Lee to get used to the hot corner again before Culpepper is called up. I wonder about that as well. It didn't seem to work well for him before being just a permanent DH. Let's hope that he is close to being back in the field and this isn't a lengthy stay on the DH trail.
