  1. Seattle is the team no one wants to see in the post-season. They can shut teams down. Runs will be at a premium today. Need 'ace' Pablo!
  2. Nice bounce back win. Really like Paddack. He's a bulldog. Bats continue to stay awake. Tomorrow is a big test.
  3. Margot getting the start in left. Does he have compromising pictures of Rocco or something?
  4. https://www.espn.com/mlb/game/_/gameId/401472539/mariners-twins Yup. Similar circumstances to last night.
  5. In hindsight, they should have waited out MAT a bit longer - IIRC, he signed a couple of days after the Margot trade and it was for $4MM. Yes, that's about $1.5MM more and maybe that's the answer...
  6. Morneau said it before Jackson's first pitch - he threw 30+ pitches on Sunday and was coming out for a high leverage spot on Tuesday - fatigue was going to be a factor. At his best, Jackson is iffy in a big spot but when he's already on fumes - had no business pitching that inning. All this talk about the 'best' bullpen in baseball after the off-season additions and it's the holdovers - Jax, Stewart, Duran, Sands, Funderburk, Thielbar and Duran that have been effective either all the time or at various times for some of them. Topa - injured. Jackson and Okert - less than impressive. Staumont - MIA. What an absolutely awful off-season.
  7. Big picture - if the Twins stay reasonably healthy, i.e. Correa, Lewis, Lopez, Duran, they will win the division. But games like last night show that they're an unserious franchise because of Rocco.
  8. As for Martin - very good athlete but instincts and awareness in the outfield aren't there at least not yet.
  9. Ober should have gone another inning. Sands goes two innings. Duran closes. Path to victory was there. Rocco got cute and got burned. Jackson's not any good. There's a reason why the guy has bounced around. They need to DFA him and get Topa right. Wouldn't be oppose to DFA'ing Okert, keep Funderburk as the second lefty, and see what Staumont has to offer - but that'll never happen.
  10. Late to the party but ummm yeah, that was rough to see.
  11. When Correa squares up, he has one of the prettiest swings in baseball. Those two hits off Castillo were text book.
  12. His last start against the Sox, SWR couldn't strike anyone out. Did he make adjustments - seemed like the 4-seam fastball up in the zone was working for him...
  13. Props to Vazquez. Not an easy spot with 2 strikes and he came through. Ditto for Thielbar. Seems to be rounding into form. Twins were 19-15 last year at this time.
