  1. Not only are the Twins nearly to the postseason, they are going to have a few games to coast to the finish and make sure the team is fresh for New York. That's crazy
  2. Lets use every pitcher in one game. Including Giminez
  3. Right or wrong, complaining about umps/referees/officials is the most boring conversation in sports. Glad there is a game to move on to tomorrow
  4. Its just a welcome change that, in the bottom of the 9th, I believe it was possible that they could win it. Years past, I would just assume they were on the verge of screwing it up
  5. Jim Souhan believes that Buxton is hitting so many home runs because he is skinny.
  6. So they aren't going to let the Twins win the entire double header based on aggregate, are they?
  7. It wasn't ironic! I appreciate it, I don't get to read everything I want to and have the memory of a gold fish even if I did. Thanks!
  8. I don't know that I have followed a draft class as I have as closely as the 2017 version. Is it unusual for the Twins to have two guys (Lewis and Rooker) moving up as fast as they are? I'll hang up and listen
  9. I can't think of a collection of more enjoyable home runs from the Twins. A few extremely long bombs, and one lightning fast inside the park-er. These Twins are very fun
  10. Hey. I've been on vacation for a week, and haven't been able to catch up, but I'm glad to see they are still fighting even though they are probably way out of the race!
  11. Bartolo looks very much like he actually cares now. His body language (and there is a lot of source material) just made him seem very indifferent. Winning and self confidence will do that, I guess.
  12. I think the time to trade Santana is now. His peripherals indicate that he is going to nose dive sooner rather than later, and at 35, even if his peripherals were good, well, the time would be coming soon anyway. If good GMs have a chance to look into him this offseason, without the deadline panic, I'm not sure anyone would take him. Seems strange to say, given his raw numbers, and the fact that he was a gosh darned all-star this year. I think Kintzler is going to go right at the deadline as the bidding war starts up after Reed is gone, and the O's decide on Britton
  13. Just once, I want "intriguing" to mean they solve mysteries and ride a motorcycle
  14. If you are close, you should always go for it. You can't assume anything from year to year, and anything can happen in the playoffs. They did a good job limiting the return, and the Twins are obviously taking advantage of the current situation (i.e. being in the postseason race). I'm all for this move. Bravo.
  15. Trade posts are my favorite. Thanks for putting this together!
  16. I just think this FO is very tight lipped, which is why this came out of left field. Going for the top position prospect (i.e. investing a lot in a player much less likely to get significantly injured on the way up) and then distributing money in order to create pitching prospect depth makes so much more sense to me. Now it just comes down to the question of whether or not their developmental prowess is as good as advertised.
  17. My guiding principle is that You should get pitchers to the majors as soon as feasible. Arms only have so many pitches in them, and nobody knows what that number is. So I say go ahead and populate the rotation with prospects. They can't be significantly worse than Santiago.
  18. If the Twins are comparable to the American Revolution, I can't wait to see how France comes in to help them Minnesota win the World Series
  19. IT blows me away that draftees are already in the system. Such a quick turnaround, sometimes from high school to pro baseball.
  20. Another so-called pundit that doesn't think Sano has the chops to be a starting 3b. smh
  21. If the rotation doesn't remain intact, it won't matter how good the new additions are. They would still be overworked and ultimately fatigue, just like the arms in the pen now. I would prefer Minor League arms to bridge the gap through July. Ifthe Twins are still in contention then, go ahead and grab someone in trade right by the deadline, to make sure they are fresh.
  22. Obviously it's hearsay and conjecture, but on the mound, he seems less awestruck and more angry this year. I think his bad debut and his relegation to Rochester at the beginning of the year pissed him off and led to him working even harder and working out his issues.
  23. Holy spit, the Twins are still in first? - Me, every single time
  24. If I were a GM, I would be so afraid of using this opportunity on a pitcher, given their volatility. Many lists I saw, Lewis was rated as the best pure position player. Given the health concerns of literally every young pitcher as they develop, I would rather roll the dice with a handful of good pitchers than one great pitcher, especially when that "great" pitcher is only 18-22.
