  1. Good lord, bastardizing people's names as a way to ridicule them. We did that in grade school. We also grew out of it
  2. If either Hicks or Benson are to be future trade bait I supose a month in Rochester is not the end of the world. As spring training has barely started, speculation as to where either will play is just a pasttime. There are no definative indicators either is ready for mlb level competion with a bat.
  3. To a Kenyan a marathon is a sprint.
  4. Well, you might be weird, but not in a bad way.
  5. I don't think the author spent much time looking at the Twins when said to make Perkins a starter. I will grant the negative people out there that there is not much there to look at with the Twins. Likewise to the rose colored glasses fans, Pelfrey wasn't a bad pitcher, Hendricks and Dozier have a litlle promise. If you think you have to drink to watch the Twins, go hng out in Elliott Park with your new friends.
  6. If Mauer was a free agent this winter what would have he commanded. Over the last six years he is 13 in War for the total WAR over that period. It was once posted that a top free agent should get abot 5 mill per war. Mauer averaged just a hair under 5. So whar is unreasonable about his contract?
  7. then you would want babip with risp to determine who is the clutch hitter. Although getting a long enough fly ball to score a runner shouldn't be counted against the batter, less you forget the "useless" stat of RBI, as the object of the game is to score runs
  8. Hey Jokin, another one of the one line people who add nothing to the discussion. Think of the different posts Jokin has had on the subject of rebuilding. I plead guilty of attempinhg to bait Jokin a little. Instead I get the queen of snark.
  9. You can't even remember why Willingham and Caroll were added to the team? Hint, the brass thought that 2011 was an abberation. So what should they do with Caroll, just eat the salary? Some team is going to give you a great prospect. for him, right? (Sarcastic if you couldn't tell) Your line of thinking becomes more out there the longer this thread goes on. How is that for adding to the discussion?
  10. Did you finally notice that people post one liners on Twins Daily? Discussion implies a give and take of ideas. I shall leave it to your imagination as to what that means.
  11. The Mets are in save money mode due to Wilpon owing money. If they had wanted Bourn they would have signed him. If your answer is so they did not have to give up a draft pick then answer why would Cleveland want to get a worse player back than the draft pick they surrendered.
  12. 5 pages of thread with three and a half of them Jokin. Someone must be proud of themselves.
  13. You have no faith in two pitching coaches, a former all star catcher as coach, and a former MVP and all star catcher will be able to add to Worley's knowledge and make him a better pitcher?
  14. Doumit as trade bait would not happen unless some had a couple of catchers go down early or near the traade deadline. At the trade deadline Hermann would have a half year at AAA. Others have stated the PCL is a hitters league with smaller parks, so his batting numbers may not translate well to mlb level. That would be a hint why he has been DFA'd twice.
  15. Thyrlos could have a point if there was a large enough sample size of playing against the top talent in high school and college. Did the moneyball book talk of doing data analysis on college players? I would wonder because Beane has had better luck trading for players than drafting.
  16. Well, obviously the Twins do not find him intriguing as they have passed on him twice.
  17. Just ask Johnny Dakota about how some people can say whatever and some can't. This is as much a comment in regards to the title of the thread as is Dave's response.
  18. Coming from you, that is funny. Could not one contend from most of your posts that Twins Daily stands for if you don't agree with Leviathan then you are an idiot. Then the threads run down a path of bickering.
  19. I doubt you would. But wouldn't it have been more prudent just to ignore a post than tell someone to go away? Or is it there is only one uniform message allowed here ?
  20. I would wonder if you got up on the wrong side of the bed since the posts of yours I d see tend to be derisive comments with no real addition to the knowledge or initial subject of the thread. Then I looked at your avatar and realized you probably just need to get out of your shell and grow up.
  21. Can't wait for the same old arguments to fly about how the Twins could of had__________________ for only ___ million. If he signs cheaply for Seattle I hope the Twins leak what their offer was. Perhaps they could do it through Thyrlos' source
  22. On this board, one imagined friend will do. Bartlett was viewed as a good shortstop that was traded away. That value solidified after he had a couple good seasons after he left. I don't ever recall anyone fawning over him as a minor leaguer. They people also forget he only had two good seasons once he left.
  23. Now I understand the "funny "stuff depository. Saying FroddadyG comment is genius in terms of funny is more of a strech than size 0 spandex on Kirstie Alley.
  24. Why would you worry about a year of control for Hicks when there is Buxton, Kepler and Arcia, and whater else in the pipeline.
