    The Royals have been a riddle to me my whole life. I live 45 minutes away from KC so I've seen more Royals games than any other team in my life. At 37, I've seen the Royals make 2 playoff appearances (2014, and 2015) and they went to the World Series both times, and if you want to add 1985, the Royals have went to the World Series the last 3 times they made the playoffs. They've developed quite a few players who became stars and were traded just before they became stars. But their one constant is the lack of pitching. I remember the day Yordano Venture died, the Royals fans around me were devastated, he was the closest thing they had to an ace since the early days of Zach Grienke. I think if this team could have the stars all align circa 2014 they could make a deep run but it would mean most of their top prospects actually pan out again and I just can't see that happening twice in a decade.

    I forgot about the Willi Castro signing, another Puerto Rican in the system. All together I think it was a good win to start things out.

    Everything I've heard is Jeffers, Taylor, Farmer, and Gordon. Definitely doesn't make any sense but we will see if more comes out in the next 24 hours.

    Someone is gonna be moved to make room on the 40 man. I'm seeing a trade on the horizon.

    I can't imagine that all 6 starters they currently have will be without injury by the end of April so I think Maeda and Ober will both get a chance if they're not the ones on the IL. I hope I am wrong but Mahle worries me a lot and I think he is the first to go down.

    With his injury history if they can buy low I would be in favor.

    You speak truth here, this reminds me of 2021 when Toronto missed a Wild Card by 1 game, losing a game or games in April that were winnable can come back to bite a team in September/October in a close race. I'm not sure where the idea that early games are less important than late season games came from but it's absolutely false.

    Lopez has good stuff, I think he has a bounce back as a set up man and does well. People have to understand Lopez had some challenges with his personal situation that probably caused many of his struggles last season after the trade. Having an offseason with the team and building chemistry with the other Puerto Rican players will boost his confidence and I think we will see a bounce back season from him.

    He is a Pennsylvania guy, maybe they can trade him to the Pirates. With his glorious 'stache he could become a cult hero there.

    If he makes it back to the MLB, I can't imagine it will be as a starter unless he develops another quality pitch besides the sinker. He seems like a legit nice guy so I wish him the best but yeah I will be surprised if he is on an MLB mound again.

    Any rule that allows a pitcher to throw a perfect game and still lose is awful.
