  1. Looking at the AA Wichita roster from last year, Baez had the third most innings behind the plate and significantly worse offensive numbers than Andrew Cossetti and Ricardo Olivar, the two other catchers. It seems unlikely he would have a great shot at the majors based off that quick look. Any half-quality utility backup innings from Gray should make this a decent trade for the twins for the '26 season.
  2. Even with no prior experience, Raya and Klein may do better than some of the other options they have out of the pen. They both look to be decent relievers without much hope for great starter careers. May as well get them in the pen as soon as possible if that is the case imo.
  3. I get the feeling that the dodgers are planning for a salary cap and trying to cash in as many bought WS wins as they can while they can. Their payroll with the luxury tax is insane but if they can go back to back to back, it will pay for itself easy.
  4. Thinking about this over the next two years that he is arb eligible, this 500k difference is realistically more like $1.1ism million since it will be factored into his arb number next year. With where payroll is and likely will be, that is a not insignificant amount. I'm guessing Joe's camp is fairly certain they will win otherwise you would think they would settle somewhere in the middle.
  5. Gasper clearly has a very low ceiling, but as utility depth, we could do worse I think. I don't want to have to see him in the majors at any point but the option to have a back up that can play (albeit poorly) multiple positions including catcher is something this team will need I think as there doesn't seem to be much for additions coming. Really, I'll mostly miss having a Super Mario doppelganger on the team.
