His scouting report shows that he was expected to be better than a "high floor" player. I would argue that he is SLOWLY working his way towards his potential ceiling. A 65 hit tool suggests a .275-.300 hitter, which he has not yet attained. But if he continues to improve, he can reach that level. Maybe 25-30 HR satisfies the 55 Power number? So, is a .280 hitter with 27 HR and 88 RBI (who also fields his position more than dependably) a 60 Overall player.

My best friend in 5th grade was a rabid Cubs fan, so I slowly learned to appreciate Ron Santo, Don Kessinger, Randy Hundley and crew. Fun team to watch, but plenty of frustration too!

Agree on Lackey and Houston. Also need a couple guys in the organization to compete for 1B and DH in 2027 and 2028. Gonzalez? Mendez? Diaw? Kendle? Tinney?

I consider any season that ends in a Yankees/Dodgers World Series an abomination and a harbinger of evil. So at least I know who I WON'T be cheering for.

How do you guys approach the postseason now? Do you pull for anyone in particular? Lose interest in baseball entirely?

I've been a Twins fan for many years and started reading Twins Daily around 2023. This is the first season I have participated in the forum. Really enjoyed the back and forth (and especially the camaraderie on the game threads)! Looking forward to whatever 2027 may hold in store!

One other curious note about Brooks -- he was a MUCH better hitter on the road this season than he was at Target Field. Road OPS = .865 Home OPS = .589 17 of his 24 HR were hit on the road BA was .292 in away games, .211 at TF

I'm with you on Roden. He looks like he'll find a home in the Big Leagues. What if he could move to 1B next year?

Lee is a solid big league 3B with some power -- the kind of player you need on your championship roster. He improves a little each year, which is the kind of trajectory everyone wants. Some might argue he would be even better if he gave up switch hitting. No reason he can't hit .265 next year with 30 HR and 90 RBI.

Not at all true. Defensive skills are on a sliding scale, just like offensive skills and pitching skills and base running skills.

😆 I like Roden. There's a decent chance he becomes an everyday player in the Big Leagues. But the Twins roster is outfielder-heavy, so he might have to find a new position. Or he might soon be part of a package trade for pitching depth.

Jenkins can be "way more than good enough" in CF. Many teams have won World Championships without a Gold Glover in CF.

I can live with Clemens at first next year, but I have to squint pretty hard to see it paying off well. I like him as a bench weapon and Super UTIL better. Problem is, I don't have a better solution for 1B. Keaschall maybe? Mendez? I love Arraez as I have stated numerous times, but Edwards would be a smart get also. Or Brandon Lowe. But only on a short contract as Houston will arrive soon enough and Culpepper will slide to 2B.

His struggles in late-May and mid-August were painful, but necessary for his growth as a pitcher. Big league hitters WILL figure out young pitchers. It's up to the young pitcher to adjust and regain the advantage needed to get crucial outs when the pressure rises. Connor is making the adjustments.

As noted in the game thread, Prielipp was 3-1 with a 3.79 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in his last 7 games. He struck out 34 and walked 8 in that span.

Which Top Twins Prospects Could Reach the Majors in 2027?
SE23 replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
We'll have Pablo, Ryan, Taj, Kremer, Prielipp, Zebby, Ober, Paredes, Rojas, Abel and maybe Festa as possible starters in the spring. That's 10 or 11 guys. Add 1-2 more through trades or FA In the pen, we'll have Banda, Fundy, Orze, Hoffman, Sands, Anderson, Gomez, Morris, Adams, Nance, Acton, Raya and maybe Minter. That's 12 or 13 guys. Add 1-2 more through trades or FA The big challenge is going to be scoring enough runs and playing enough defense to adequately support the pitching staff.- 48 replies

Twins (Prielipp) vs Giants (Perdomo): 09/23/26, 2:45 PM

Interestingly, Bradley's 4.3 WAR this year is higher than anything Pablo has produced in his career. Ryan had 4.5 WAR last year, but otherwise has never produced more than 2.5 WAR in any season.
