  1. Can't really complain not sending him with one out but he had a good shot at it.
  2. Hey if anyone's at the ballpark who is near the idiot yelling at mauer because doizer was unable to glove that ball at first do me a favor and knock him out. OK don't do that but he's yelled on my TV 5 timed now and has no clue.
  3. More rain coming. Shouldn't amount to much but I'd bet closer to 9.
  4. If we were in the third inning I don't think they would stop it for this, but I doubt they will start until it at least dies down a little more. You never know they could always wait it out until closer to 10 too.
  5. I'd bet against playing at this point http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/target-field-mn/55403/minute-weather-forecast/53242_poi
  6. Actually the first World Series went 8 games. And even better the first World Series where the winner won 4 games and the loser lost 3 also went 8 games with a tie included.
  7. Looks like this rain is going to linger for a while, looks like probably 8:00 at the earliest that the rain might stop. Doubt they want to start the game after 9 so it could be called.
  8. When did AL teams start playing NL teams? Seems like that sort of thing would of got some media attention.
  9. Just got off the phone with my 20 game package for the remainder of the year. With the Brewers Cubs Royals and St Louis coming to town in the next month and them replacing the April and May games with mostly September games against the Astros Royals and Tigers it's a heck of a deal assuming the Twins don't fall apart. Sounds like a couple games are very close to selling out and this package might not be around much longer. Thursdays win really flipped the secondary market in favor of buying directly from the Twins again and if you buy the 20 game package they give you about 25% more off plus no fees. Already have tickets for a couple other games, and am super excited to have tickets for nearly half the Twins remaining games for basically the price of two pairs of Wild tickets.
  10. We have to get past the 1 game playoff for it to matter at all. His signing was to me more about having solid pitching at the end of the rotation and considering you cut back to 4 starters in the playoffs that aspect doesn't change. If somehow he has an under 3.00 ERA and wins the majority of his starts sure he'll be missed in the playoffs, but I'm just looking for rotation depth and adding one of the starters to the bullpen.
  11. Just did the math as of today with 116 games remaining we could add a $9.3 million dollar annual salary for the 6.66 million we saved because of Santana's suspension. Given the success and the fact we were willing to add Morales for a comparable # last year I would think Terry Ryan is planning on spending every cent of that. If we take it close to the trade deadline your looking at adding a player or players at nearly double that salary, and thats if the other team pays nothing. Given the prospect depth the already budgeted money available and the history of the Pohlads letting Terry Ryan spend a little extra at the trade deadline the sky's the limit at the trade deadline. Almost no matter how much we fall back to earth in the next 2 months August and September should be fun.
  12. The twins last 4 years was horrible because some guy on AM radio decided 90 losses was a milestone of some sort. Prior to that the difference between 88 loses and 92 was 4 games.
  13. I was at 85ish and remain there if and when Buxton sano or berrios come up or if we make an early trade I'd go up but the team as it is is a between .500 and 2 and wildcard team
  14. Being 4 games up on the wild card and 1 game behind in the division this is getting more real by the day. Wild card magic # 113 division 119. By the way that wild card # is currently for either the Yankees or rays if one gets hot they just take the division lead and we don't care.
  15. I think a lot of stuff modern managers do at most alters 1 or 2 results a year, but the one thing that alters more then that is the defensive shifting. I liked Gardenhire, but not shifting on it's own at this point was reason enough for the Twins to move on. I also think Molitor and Terry Ryan are on the same page, you don't need the perfect roster if the manager has what he wants. And the one reason I can safely say the Twins would't be 5 games over .500 is that Gardenhire teams always started slow. Whats really sold me on Molitor is the recovery from the 1-6 start, I was ready to hate Molitor at that point because I knew this team was good enough that I should at the very least get to experience false hope at some point this season, 24 games later and I'd easily take 18-13 even had we started 6-1.
  16. Wild card 131 True Magic #134
  17. I can't help myself. I'm no longer convinced this is a playoff team I'm convinced they will win the World Series. Twins have never won the Wild Card and won't win it this year either, but if somehow the Royals or Tigers can stay with us the Twins Wild card magic # is 135 The division magic # and the only magic # that matters is 138
  18. Can't buy 3.2 beer until noon, and next to nobody knows that.
  19. I'm against Sunday alcohol sales because of how much the lack of access helped me quite drinking. I get all the arguments for it, but question why nobody on that side seems to have any problem that they can't pick up a 6 pack on the way home from the Twins game at 10:15. It's legal but regulated. I don't know what percent of alcoholics would be unlikely to relapse at a bar or by driving to Wisconsin, but it it's more then 5% then is it really worth it so some rich snob who can't plan can have whine with their dinner? I'm not bothered by the politicians who would vote for Sunday sales, but the one's who find this to be an important issue at the possible expense of actual priorities probably shouldn't be in office.
  20. It's the 6th inning unless Molitor hates Arcia and thinks he can somehow teach him something you use that challenge even if you can see clear evidence they got the call right.
  21. ESPN fantasy rankings have our starting pitching ranked #21,67,107,139,182,188, of course the back end may be rated lower because those 6 guys don't include May Meyer or any other prospect, and even 5 or 6 starts from either of those guys is going to cut into the potential stats for either Milone or Pelfrey. Nolasco comes in at 182, I don't play fantasy baseball, but if I did I would love to get a guy like him as the 182nd starting pitcher taken.
  22. Posting my list 1. Scott Hall 2. Adrian Peterson 3. Randy Travis 4. Steve Gleason 5. Jon Kriesel 6. George HW Bush 7. Louie Anderson 8. Michael J Fox 9. Charlie Sheen 10. Bobby Heenan 11. Tom Brokaw 12. JP Parise 13. Jimmy Carter 14. Betty White 15. Brett Hart 16. Jim Dutcher 17. Vern Gagne 18. Antione Walker 19. Brock Lesnar 20. Jim Kelly 21. Johnny Knocksville 22. Terry Bradshaw 23. Gallagher 24. Bill Cosby 25. Alec Baldwin
  23. Turning Ervin Santana and Kyle Gibson into true 3 and 4 starters would be huge. Saw Reusse tweet the idea of Sano and Berrios for Zimmerman, and despite the fact I love Berrios as a prospect it makes a lot of sense and easily makes us a Wild Card contender this year.
  24. Do I need a replacement for Parise or do the points count?
  25. All my 88 year olds I've been using forever are 92, I'm bad at this game do have one pretty sure thing though.
