  1. Heres how I would define it. Once dad knows assuming he's not for the abortion it's word that I've been encouraged not to use, assuming he's fine with the abortion once any grandparent or any aunt uncle that the parent has a real family relationship with it's word I've been encouraged not to use assuming they don't all support the decision to abort. Come third trimester none of that matters, if you then have an abortion it's just wrong. By the way just in case people are confused I respect the views of those that disagree with me, which is why for the most part I try to stay away from the discussion of abortion.
  2. . What do you propose we do with the people who don't happen to agree with our point of view. I choose to tolerate them.
  3. . Republicans are not in denial its just that when most candidates are 55 plus we aren't going to find a viable candidate with an opposing view in 2016 much like Democrats couldn't in 2008, and depending how you define Hillary's change in public statements I'm not so sure the Democrats are ready to find one in 2016. The good news despite never electing a president who supported it it is already legal and that will never change it. You can bash all you want but evn tea party Republicans agree with you. I continue to dare Democrats to nominate someone who have consistently been on our side.
  4. . I agree. One parties at around 60% under 40 the other is 80%. I'd be more worried about Russia or Iran then some town with 600 people in Mississippi but that's just me. Huge difference between intolerance and actual hate not to say none exists in this country.
  5. Most political candidates in all parties are over 40. Democrat candidates have just came along in the last 2 or 3 years. I've been begging Democrats to nominate candidates that share your view and mine for years.
  6. Republicans under 40 have agreed with you on gay marriage. Many agree with you on the drug debate. As for abortion I'll give you all the he middle ground I can. Late term abortion with none of the commonly discussed exceptions should result in a minimum 90 days in jail for both the mother the doctor and I'd he can be proven to be involved in the decision the father. If the other side is going to be more focused on being offended then trying to find middle ground don't complain about the grey area. I'd prefer all abortions had criminal consequences, but if we want middle ground then please encourage your elected Democrats to seek it out. My wife is 7 months pregnant she has the legal right to have a doctor kill that 4 pound baby, and if somehow she made that choice behind my back the only thing I could do is divorce her. He already has a name. I don't know what you would call that but there's a word that I would assume would be agreeable. Based on the tone of this discussion maybe I'm wrong.
  7. . That explains a lot. Despite election results making it clear the GOP isn't extreme the other side still finds a way to misrepresent us. In this case the other side is basically calling the GOP and its supporters criminal. This is a clear misrepresentation of what voter id laws are all about. I suppose when you think you own the black vote it can't possibly be democrat policy that gives them no hope it has to be the Republicans cheating.
  8. Keep calling me and all on one side of the issue extreme. Keep deleting posts describing exactly what abortion is. I get that the other side thinks it somehow isn't murder, but the suggestion that term mis represents the view is just silly. The fact that people take comfort in abortion not being murder is fine but ultimately each and every abortion has an identical end result no matter where you want to put it in the grey area. And lastly if the opposing side doesn't want an abortion debate the opposing side shouldn't have called me and candidates I agree with extreme.
  9. How much has republican support slipped in the last 20 years? I ask because you keep telling me us 18-40 year olds have no tolerance for anyone who thinks abortion is criminal. As long as I've been reading internet comments I've heard the I would be a republican but crowd tell me its all over. Then we nominate the exact candidate they describe and they decide that candidate is to "extreme" too. When in doubt tell me about the grey area. It's fine you can vote democrat. Part of politics is losing elections I'm OK with Republicans losing I'd they stand for something.
  10. So then we can watch the Republican party get 32% of the vote in 10 years. You would think given this certain future the elected Democrats would have the political courage to stop pandering and seek out meaningful change. Some of us young people remember what the Democrats thought of gays as recently as 5 years ago. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama's personal opinion on the issue is clear, they've got a new political opinion in the last 2 or 3 years but if you didn't know the political labels you would assume Obama Hillary Clinton were old white male Republicans.
  11. I think a very large # of those Obama voters will do exactly what they did during the mid term. I'd love if Republicans got 20% of the black vote, but I don't really break down the vote by skin color, we're all Americans. They've seen what the last 8 years brought them and they know Hillary cares about them even less. When the Democrat party is acting shocked that minimum wage wasn't a big issue during a presidential debate it tells you a lot about what they think of the urban population. Republicans have seen to many people succeed to ever assume failure.
  12. So your generation is pro abortion?
  13. Black vote? Hillary's running, and as you know white lives don't matter.
  14. . After not winning 5 of the last 6 elections and failing to get 50% all 6 I'm OK with doing something different even if not winning is a possibility.
  15. I want this election to be about the track record of female candidates.
  16. At this point I just hope it gets bad enough that molitor isn't back next year.
  17. The big star of the night was Carly Fiorina. Everyone in the later debate with the exception of Democrat plant Donald Trump did fine, and despite the fact Trump is now done he will continue to poll at 15 to 20% and Democrats will continue to pretend he is a Republican and the front runner.
  18. given the almost complete lineup flexibility 1st base/dh gives you not platooning mauer means the manager isn't trying.
  19. I don't really care so much that he's batting third although clearly thats probably not the right spot. My question is why is he on pace for the most plate appearances in his career. Of course staying healthy is part of it, but the fact he doesn't get at least one off day a week is insane.
  20. sunk cost not a legitiment reason to keep him around.
  21. Real question not that any gm is this foolish but if somehow he got claimed off waivers would no trade clause matter?
  22. I look at the GOP field as a couple clusters of candidates and then trump. You have Bush and Christie leading one cluster, and Paul Cruz and Carson leading the other with rubio and Walker bridging the gap. Trump is competitive but sits in 3rd. If he ever gets to 35% in a poll he's a contender but until then his poll #'s don't impress me.
  23. Clearly unless you pay at least 80% of mauers salary no team would trade for him. That being said when the twins are ready to move on (today would be a good day) give him the option to accept a trade if some team would pay 15% of his remaining salary. Otherwise you have to hope he retires or eat his salary. We can't go another year with < Gene Larkin as our starting 1st baseman. In fact we shouldn't go another week with mauer starting more then 3 games.
  24. Just so we're clear it is OK to spell the word republican correctly and then add party to it. You could also do the same with libertarian constitution reform green...
  25. If I want to insult democraterickables I'll call it the democratickables party. If I don't want to insult Democrats I'll call it the Democrat party. If somehow that bothers you I don't care.
