  1. Here's my dilemma if Doizer hit's .233 with 14 HR's would he still help the Twins win games if this team otherwise surprises us and is competitive. If the answer to that is yes then maybe we don't need to gamble on a trade that isn't what we want. Of course it's possible he will hit .270 with 35 HR again but I fear he will fall way short, as do probably all the potential trading partners.
  2. I bet having the suspension hurts his value big time to the point where it makes no sense to move him.
  3. It depends on the reason, republicans are hopeful on Trump but will turn on him quick if he doesn't act like a Republican or follow the law. If The Democrats are virtually 100% it wouldn't take many Republicans. I could easily see more then 50% of Republicans turning on him after-all Republicans like Mike Pence and he has a record to earn that.
  4. I sure hope Trump does something impeachable before Democrats realize they don't want to impeach him.
  5. Assuming other teams value Doizer at 90% of his stats from last year or more the Twins shouldn't even have to "win" the trade to make a good deal for the future. Baseballs a funny game so I'm not about to assume a full rebuild is the only path to the playoffs but a playoff ready team should be willing to give up the kind of package that you can't turn down. To me this feels like having multiple high draft picks that have already been developed for a few years (more like NFL draft picks then MLB), I don't know what they will turn into but I love the position we're in. Of course I want pitching but as long as we bring in talent I'm not worried about it in fact if we could get 3 position players of real value I'd probably prefer it over 3 solid pitchers. I want that ace pitcher but one #2 and 2 #3's isn't going to have the same impact as one borderline All Star position player and 2 slightly above average position players.
  6. He was driving without a license for most of those, they get to do the job they are required to do.
  7. No I mean the correction that you shouldn't be allowed to pull over black people for any reason if in hindsight it didn't end well.
  8. Remember how ban this offense was for 2+ months. Even Suzuki is back near .300. It might be to late to make a wild card run but I want and expect this to continue the rest of the year. Anything less then 70 wins is a disappointment.
  9. I don't know ask the 2 year old in North Minneapolis
  10. A lot of people are saying officers shouldn't be allowed to make stops. Clearly in this case it was important that she be stopped for the childs sake. The aftermath of a legitimate stop will be investigated and they should be able to look at enough factors to put everything together.
  11. The only factors critical to that investigation is if he grabbed in the direction of his gun. That investigation will happen. As long as people are going to say those stops shouldn't happen that correction needs to be made. Doing drugs with a kid in the car, it's all on video she put it on the internet.
  12. Some of the other facebook live videos from his girlfriend speak directly to her Character and the sorts of things she does with a four year old in the car. You can look this stuff up yourself I won't post the trash. Come up with your own conclusions. I will say this if you can't stop a car with her in it you can't protect children.
  13. I know people are upset about every police shooting justified or not, but unless we want Dallas to be the norm the anti police rhetoric needs to end (reminder I didn't say it needs to end I said things like Dallas will happen if it doesn't). This officer in Falcon Heights will be dealt with as the investigation sees fit. Sometimes the officers are justified sometimes they aren't. I understand people want the line for cops to be held accountable to be at different points and that's a difficult problem to deal with. As for the guy dragging a gun around downtown Dallas having his picture plastered all over the media that's the chance you take when you openly carry and a shooting takes place and it has nothing to do with race.
  14. 3-1 in the second half keep this up and they win 86 or 87 and have a good shot at the Wild Card
  15. Because of his age I disagree with this depending on how low your bar is for decent. Replacing him will be a problem but I don't trust him to be anything more then average going forward. You should be able to attract an offer worth at least gambling on but you will be lucky to get anything more then an A ball prospect or lower level prospects.
  16. Good to see Trump is more worried about defending a tweet he flt the need to delete rather then Clinton's problems or the charges she's fired back his way. The convention is two weeks away and he's still nothing more then an adult child, I sure hope the delegates get this right. Today was one of the few days I felt like maybe I could vote for Trump but he just can't even pretend to be a real candidate. Maybe the convention will compromise by selecting the VP candidate for Trump and then we can rely on the threat of impeachment if he can't follow the rules.
  17. I don't have a huge opinion on Clinton. It's not as if the Democrat party would have trouble finding a replacement candidate so politically this should be the best result for Republicans. Of course so long as Trump is the candidate there is nothing to gain by defeating Clinton. All this being said it looks awful for the FBI director when you go by his own words. Why did they even have an investigation to begin with if they were going to let her destroy evidence? I think people put way to much trust in these people because they happen to have or are able to pretend to have similar political views. In this case we have clear evidence she made a very bad mistake. Is she a really dumb person? I know Donald Trump is both really dumb and corrupt so being dumb on it's own doesn't mean you don't have criminal intent. If they can't prove it they can't prove it and in a criminal sense that clearly matters but we get to choose if she should be or shouldn't be our president, and clearly Donald Trump isn't the only choice if we truly are a free nation.
  18. I know it's about travel more then money but if they don't give out full refunds to every ticket holder it's a joke.
  19. Fair enough but there's another way to say that, you could instead of talking about death bring up the changing views of the new crop of younger voters
  20. Political thought is cyclical. Yes some are more willing to change then others but some have been around the block long enough to know what they stand for. 55 is an awfully young threshold BTW. I see what your saying in some sense but people the generation behind you might not agree with you, it's always been that way and it's not always in one direction.
  21. What thread? When did I say anything about that thread? This is about people excited over the death of those they disagree with. If you need to ban me for this cool if not don't bring up that name as clearly it's a problem.
  22. I like that the moderators jump in when someone says something slightly critical except when people get super excited that maybe people that disagree with them have died or will eventually die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Start banning people.
  23. Gosh darn extremists with there aliveness. This one probably deserves an explanation point!
  24. I see. The fact the Jeb Bush wing of the party opposes him is somehow a failure on his part? It's not as if those of us who voted for him no longer exist because Trump won. He won a record # of votes outside of Trump and in 2020 we'll try again. John McCain George Bush and Mitt Romney are not "wack jobs" they didn't do any of us any good. I'll take my wack job you can have your wack job and in 2020 we'll go at it again. We have to win twice against a voting base that is not in our favor but I'd argue that doesn't make us "wack jobs" just people who want meaningful change.
  25. Thank you for comparing Cruz to Hukabee, otherwise that first sentence would be a direct insult to me. I voted for Cruz not because he will stand up for the rights of unborn children (a good thing even if some disagree) but because he ran for senate saying what he would do and has done everything in his power to do those things. I trust Ted Cruz. In the case of Mike Huckabee I don't even know if I trust him more then I trust Trump, he's awful.
