  1. Very interesting that klaw has Quezada in his top 20, but Chargois was not mentioned.
  2. Yeah I shouldn't have posted that now that I think about it haha. Looking at his numbers though and the volatility that non-elite relievers have in general, I don't mind just hoping that Fien rebounds and then wait until the relief cavalry comes at some point this year.
  3. 2/11 is a pretty pricey contract for a reliever who's only had one good year since 2010.
  4. Assuming Byron Buxton gets the job, I'm sure he can outproduce the .243/.296/.360 (.656) that Twins CFers put up last year (btw I know he was part of those numbers). Danny Santana could probably outproduce that too.
  5. That's fair, but I just think I have a more optimistic view on the young players, especially Arcia. I want them to have an extended shot at playing time, and not be relegated to the bench for a mediocre player if/when they struggle.
  6. A full season of Park at DH should hopefully be an improvement over nothing/half a season from Sano and a full season of Sano in RF instead of Torii will boost both position's production.
  7. The Twins got .251/.338/.421 (.759) with 21 HRs and 82 RBI from the DH spot last year. Those seem like reasonable numbers to expect from Park.
  8. Just for the record, John Danks hasn't had a 4.25 ERA since 2010. He's been above 4.70 the last three years and is on the short list for worst regular starters in the MLB, so I really hope he pitches 200 innings this year!
  9. If the Rangers got a C- for just adding a solid reliever in Tom Wilhelmsen and a 5th outfielder in Justin Ruggiano, then I think the Twins should be at least at that level when you consider they upgraded their weakest position of catcher and also got a medium risk/high reward guy in Park.
  10. Why would adding old, mediocre players like Venable or Byrd make you feel any better?
  11. Arcia's got a career 104 ops+, and he's going to start the season at 24 years old. He's a lock to start the season with the Twins. You don't give up on young power hitters who have great minor league track records just because of one nagging injury season. I'm expecting and hoping for a big year from Ozzie.
  12. Rosario's fielding and upside still give him the edge for me over Melky. Laroche is going to have to have a huge bounceback just to be playable. I'll take my chances with Arcia/Park.
  13. I highly doubt any of the three outfielders you listed would make the team even if Buxton starts in triple-a. That's just a waste of a spot when you've got Arcia as the 4th outfielder instead.
  14. A consensus top 25ish prospect who has dominated the upper minors with great stuff and great control despite being quite young for the leagues only gets a 2/3 ceiling from you? That's a reasonable conservative projection, but I think his reasonable ceiling projection is an ace.
  15. The Twins 4/5 of Duffy and Milone/Berrios help close the gap some between the two rotations, especially if the Sox plan on their 4/5 being Latos and Erik Johnson. And hopefully the Twins can keep on crushing Chris Sale.
  16. I'll take Rosario's speed and arm over Melky Cabrera, as they were about even offensively last year. And if the Twins primary DH can't muster a 78 ops+ this year, then something's gone horribly wrong.
  17. I really like what I'm hearing about Arcia this offseason. If he can find a way to play up to his talent level (and find somewhere to play in the field), this lineup is going to have some serious power.
  18. Thanks for all of the great BP videos. And wow, the Park video already has over 8,000 views on YouTube.
  19. Yeah I have mixed feelings on the championship coming down to just one race. I like the game 7 feel that they're going for though, and the final race in each round is usually pretty entertaining. This is definitely better than old 10 race format.
  20. I really hope that this is the year that Dale Jr. puts together a full strong season and wins the championship, although it seemed like Hendrick fell behind Penske and Gibbs last year with the new rules and everything, so it will be interesting how they stack up this year.
  21. That Danica prediction is pretty bold. The only way I see her making the Chase is through a gas mileage win. She only had two top tens last year, and she's of course very likely to have a bunch of 36th place finishes due to wrecks.
  22. What are the Royals doing with Mondesi? He hasn't really hit well for three years now, and yet they keep pushing him up a level each year even though he has been very young for every league that he's played in.
  23. Especially when the Twins have a probable top two prospect and almost for sure three total top 50 guys. The one I really don't get is the Brewers ahead of them. They've got Arcia, but then I would assume Brett Phillips is there next guy, and BA has him at 57.
  24. Jay will have a decent chance to finish this year at double-A, and it's not like he has to dramatically tighten up his control or change his mechanics or something like that. It sounds like he's already got three plus pitches and just has to make some adjustments to starting. 2017 doesn't seem too unreasonable for a top 10 pick coming out of college.
