  1. I think pitching has to be the main return for Dozier in order for a trade to make sense. Bellinger is a good prospect, but a strikeout prone first basemen isn't enough for me to give up Dozier.
  2. Now we're pushing the goal post back 3 more years? Really?? To answer your question: Yes, I, along with most people, expect this team to be contending in less than 3 years.
  3. He's not a very good hitter, but he's one of the best pitch framers in the game. Going from the worst in Suzuki to one of the best should do something for you. Having good offense from the position would be nice, but the pitching is the problem, and this hopefully will help with that.
  4. That's a good deal in terms of money owed. I'd like to have Castro be a better hitter, but his catching skills should make up for the weak bat.
  5. If I were the Nationals and I wanted to improve the offense, I'd move Trea Turner back to short, and either slide Espinosa over to second and Murphy to first, and then sign Dexter Fowler or bring back Ian Desmond. I would not really even think about trading Giolito.
  6. Yeah it seems excessive, but he's an upgrade over what they were getting from Colby Rasmus.
  7. The Astros are going hard. Brian McCann and Josh Reddick in the same day. I'm guessing they'll have a nice bounce-back year in 2017.
  8. It's not that bad. Wolitarsky is really good and the other receivers are solid. Ask CJ Beathard if he'd like to trade receiver groups.
  9. I didn't know Todd McShay coaches at South Dakota State.
  10. So fun watching Wiggins' monster game tonight, 47 points and on just 21 shots. A really nice win without Lavine and Shabazz. Bjelica had a great game in his first career start, and we really saw the value of Rubio again. He was awesome tonight. I also have to give credit to Adreian Payne for making the most of his playing time.
  11. Yeah the defense has shown no improvement so far. Pretty disappointing. And Kris Dunn playing over twice as many minutes as Tyus doesn't make sense to me either. Dunn is brutal offensively, both his passing and shooting are much worse than I thought they would be.
  12. Switching over to the NL, the batting champ, Lemehieu, didn't win the Silver Slugger either because of Daniel Murphy. And even Eddie Rosario calls Rougned Odor a free swinger. Just 19 walks in 632 PAs last year.
  13. Park didn't make South Korea's WBC team? That seems weird. And if the choice comes down to Kipnis or Dozier, I think that's a pretty easy decision to make.
  14. Fair point, but Belly and Brandon Rush aren't going to shoot below 25% either. I think this team should be a little better than league average on 3's this year. That would be a nice improvement over what we've been seeing.
  15. The biggest development here is Andrew Wiggins continuing his 3 point shooting improvement from the 2nd half of last year. My favorite is him pulling up over Biyombo and nailing a 3 last night. Guys are going to have to play him a little tighter in both 1 on 1 and in pick and rolls, which should help even more with his driving.
  16. Maybe Dunn and Jones can share the backcourt off the bench some when Rubio comes back. I'd like to have Dunn hound the opponent's backup pg and then just stay out of the way on offense. This is an even more likely option if Brandon Rush can't find his stroke, as he doesn't offer much other than shooting. And he had a DNP-CD last night.
  17. What a joke this season has been. Thibs and his defensive genius just gave up 119 to a garbage Brooklyn team without Jeremy Lin. And why in the world was Bazz playing at the 4 the whole 4th quarter instead of Belly??? He had done nothing all night. Wiggins' shot looks really cleaned up, but he missed 5 layups and choked at the free throw line again. I'm so frustrated with this team right now.
  18. Well yeah, but going for a high knockout hit with the game already in hand and a minute left isn't the smartest thing to do either.
  19. I'm frustrated with things looking almost exactly the same as last year. The Thibodeau Effect has yet to help the defense, and the offense still isn't generating enough 3 point attempts. Having Rubio out has hurt the last couple games, as Kris Dunn looked awful tonight against OKC. Hopefully the next two games against worse teams in the Nets and Magic can help get things back on track.
  20. OKC just put a beatdown on the Wolves tonight. Maybe next year...
  21. I agree. There were so many times where one more pass would have led to an open 3. Belly had a decent game helping to bring them back, but he passed up two 3's late that cost them some.
  22. I think the Timberwolves just set an NBA record for most 3's rattled in and out. This 1-3 start has me pretty bummed out.
  23. Go Tribe.
  24. Jesus Montero for Michael Pineda is a decent example. That doesn't really help either of our cases though. Pineda got hurt, but has rebounded some, and Jesus Montero has been hot garbage.
  25. He took a step back this year, in a record HR year, he has durability issues, and is mediocre in the field. I don't like to talk negatively about Sano because I'm a big fan, but for Julio Urias, yeah I'd make that deal.
