  1. I'd hit Dozier and Bautista 1 and 2 in the lineup, or possibly bump them down a spot if Buxton plays like he has the potential to. That would be a top 5 offense in all of baseball.
  2. The Rays signed Colby Rasmus today, and they were a team that had been connected to Bautista, so that takes them out of the running. I'd be all for the signing.
  3. Oh yeah my bad. They beat UCLA by 20, and then lost to Florida.
  4. Oh ok yeah that was a tough year. I can't remember if that was when Hoffarber had to play pg or if that was a different year. That 2012-2013 team got all the way up to 8th too when they started 14-1. It went downhill after that pretty quick and barely held on for a tournament spot.
  5. They sure did. That was a talented team though with the Hollins(es), Rodney Williams, and Mbakwe. That was the year they lost to Shabazz and UCLA in the tournament. It's fun to look back at the stats and remember those guys.
  6. I agree with this. Remember last offseason when so many people wanted the Twins to sign Bastardo or Sipp? That hasn't worked out too well.
  7. I think Berrios should be in the plans to start in the rotation, especially if shows good control during the spring. He's got to learn how to pitch to MLB hitters at some point. And he threw about 170 innings last year, so I wouldn't even worry about his innings count for 2017.
  8. In February of 2013. I'm usually pretty optimistic going into seasons, but this team has been even better than I thought they would be. Hopefully they can keep it up get some revenge on Michigan State on Wednesday.
  9. The Gophers finally made it back into the rankings, at #24 in both main polls. They're also 5th in RPI and 31st by Ken Pomeroy and his rankings.
  10. I'll still watch, but yeah, I'm over it. Draft position!!!
  11. Another win tonight for the Gophers. Amir Coffey and Akeem Springs were great offensively, and Reggie Lynch played well on both ends. Other than that, it was a game that was a little rough, but still a nice win. And Amir Coffey had a monster and-1 dunk late in the game that's worth looking up if you haven't seen it.
  12. I agree with you on the bullpen guys. Hopefully one of Hildenberger or Melotakis pitches well enough to start the years with the Twins, or at least be up at the first possible opening.
  13. I'm hoping Adalberto Mejia makes a strong case to open the season in the starting rotation.
  14. Another good thing is that only Akeem Springs is a senior that plays. This team is already good now, and they should be even better next year. The future looks really bright.
  15. I think this is an NCAA Tournament team. They've got all the right pieces: size, shooting, point guard play, and good defense.
  16. Lemahieu is good, but I bet Dozier would hit around .300 if he were on the Rockies, and with a lot more power. Lemahieu hit .303 and had a .747 OPS on the road last year, which is very good, but he was really boosted by almost hitting .400 in Coors. If you had to pick one second basemen between the two for 2017, I'd have to imagine very few people would take Lemahieu over Dozier.
  17. DJ Lemahieu being ahead of Dozier is ridiculous. Ben Zobrist has been considered so underrated that he's now become overrated. Dozier should be 4th or 5th on this list.
  18. Oh my bad. He's been off the ballot for 2 years now. How do the steroid voters not vote for him, with his numbers, and then vote for the other steroid guys? He was at 4.4%, which dropped him off. Still seems hypocritical to me.
  19. How can people include Bonds and Clemens, and then leave off Rafael Palmeiro? The guy had 569 HRs and 3020 hits. The hypocrisy with people who think steroid users should be in is pretty bad. Steroid users would not be on my ballot.
  20. I grew up in northern Iowa and am currently attending college. I'm 22 years old, and I have been a Twins fan since around 2007 or 2008 when I started watching nearly every game. My favorite memories are the Joe Mauer MVP season and watching game 163 against the Tigers. My favorite players that I've watched are Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Glen Perkins, Carl Pavano, Brian Dozier, and Denard Span. Watching highlights of great Twins of the past is great too, and hopefully the young crop of current Twins can become favorites soon too. I've been reading TwinsDaily since the beginning, after following Nick over from the Twins ESPN page, and I only started posting about 2 years ago. Its been a lot of fun, as I usually visit the site several times per day. I really enjoy reading the different perspectives that different members of this site have, and I look forward to enjoying the Twins and this site for years to come.
  21. Miguel Sano deserves some sort of a pass for the RF thing, but he was still disappointing last year, and a grade in the C range seems more appropriate.
  22. Brian Dozier had an .886 OPS and was 1 HR short of the MLB record for HRs by a 2B. That's a no question A+.
  23. I don't really see the match with the Giants. Their minor league system looks pretty bare, and I don't see anyone on the MLB roster that would make sense in a trade either. And Joe Panik doesn't look like his bat would profile well at third.
  24. Luke Weaver would be a nice headliner in a deal, especially if Alex Reyes is considered untouchable. It's definitely good to hear there's competition for the Dodgers to get Dozier.
  25. There's two recent top 10 prospects, a top 30ish prospect (Kepler), a top 50ish (Gordon), and a top 100 (Polanco) in that lineup. That doesn't seem too bad to me, especially with high upside guys like Lewin Diaz and Wander Javier who should be in the mix by 2020 as well.
