    I don't hate the idea of signing Molina. Would be valuable to have in the organization for when a lot of our younger guys start to establish themselves (Meyer and Gibson in '14 and many more beyond)

    Shapiro is an excellent negotiator- I've met and had the chance to speak with Ron on a couple occasions. He is extremely honest at the bargaining table and his reputation in the industry is sterling. If he says he thinks Mauer could have gotten 10/300, I certainly believe it.

    Really puts a damper on the night. Hearing that anybody on your team met with James Andrews really puts a knot in your stomach. Just goes to show you that full season+ can be very demanding. Hope these guys can rest up over the winter and come back strong.

    Facetious apologies aside, I would like to ask you to explain how "hazing" (read: not harassment) is a.) inherently bad and b.) used exclusively by "immature people". It appears as though you believe these ideas, and I'm curious to see your reasoning. I believe that baseball is fun for these guys, but there is more to playing professional baseball than just having fun. They get paid to perform, and the pressure to perform well is often very high. This can be extremely stressful and decidedly "not fun" for some guys. (Remember the Hiroki Kuroda quote? Link-Yankees? Kuroda: I?ve never enjoyed baseball | New York Post) I still take issue with your remark that ballplayers "get paid to have fun all day". The hard work they put in and the pressure inherent in the game are not fun at all. Additionally, what if someone younger than you and better than you were trying to take your job? Fun? I am quite familiar with Scorsese and his upcoming work. I am extremely excited to see DiCaprio and Marty work together. Those two have something special

    What happened in Miami isn't really "hazing" in the traditional sense. Like Levi says right above, it's harassment. Harassment has no part in any league. "Hazing", to a certain extent, does. I have absolutely no problem with it, so long as it doesn't devolve into harassment. Such hazing occurs in many work environments actually. Even on the Supreme Court, it is the most newly appointed member's job to bring the other Justices coffee and make sure certain items are in order. This is not uncommon in many offices. In this way, hazing helps acclimate individuals into a new environment and builds a sense of identity. It often causes no harm at all. Sometimes certain individuals take hazing too far and it becomes harassment- this is despicable. I have no problem with hazing so long as it is not used as a sort of "front" for harassment. It often does not. When it does, it is absolutely despicable. It is incumbent upon certain sources of authority in any work environment to monitor such behavior (in the case of the Dolphins, coaches clearly fell short in not listening to Martin). In sum-- hazing is not inherently evil. To condemn it as such is shallow. Harassment, on the other hand, is always wrong.

    Eno Sarris of Fangraphs posted a quick blurb regarding Alex Meyer.     Thanks for this Seth. Each new installment gives me something to look forward to. Question: Is Felix Jorge's height (projectability?) the largest factor in his superior ranking to Landa and Rosario? Or does he just have better stuff and solid peripherals?

    I don't know if anyone mentioned it here, but regarding Thorpe's improvement.... I've seen a few different reports that he grew and put on a fair amount of weight. I remember seeing that he's throwing harder now with better stuff. I'll try to dig up a link if I can find one

    How far is a ways off if he is at AA this year and showing promise? Is this about fielding? Is there a shot he makes the bigs at all in 2014?

    Good to see Berrios put a nice start together. Nice day for Sano, walking once and driving in 4 with a HR and double. He looks to be continuing to adjust well. How much longer will Trevor May continue to struggle? I'm all for giving this kid every chance, but his last few starts have been pretty ugly. His BB/9 might be inching in the right direction but overall his future as an MLB starter really concerns me.

    I understand that errors are often not the best way to judge fielding ability, but 27 of them amidst questions about his defensive prowess are enough to make me seriously question his honors. Great to see our top prospects succeeding, however.

    My girlfriend (not originally a baseball fan) is trying to learn more about the Twins after seeing how bizarrely I care about them. I've explained a lot to her (she knows who Sano is and understands Morneau's sad story), but I've had trouble selling her on the franchise as it currently stands. How do you explain a rebuilding phase to an entry-level fan and get someone to buy in?
