  1. So why not include his whole body of work? 14 years the first time...took him 9 seasons to win his first division And I took out the 'players win thing' because yes, he deserves SOME credit for the winning (not all) and SOME of the fault for the losing as well . But I do like the '****retarded' comment...so grown up. BTW, I'm sure you'll give Smith some credit too since many of our best prospects were brought in under his watch...
  2. The GM won them 8 division titles in 8 years? The GM? First, your info is incorrect. They didn't win 5 division titles in 8 years while he was in charge. Second, he was in charge the first time 14 years...why not include it all?
  3. Or people who say: 'The thing is that they're not even rebuilding, really. Why is Caroll still on this team? Why wasn't Willingham shopped aggressively? What about Perkins? If you're going to blow it up, then blow it up properly. Don't ride the fence and expect fans to be okay with the decision. I'm fine with going one way or the other. I'm not okay with half-assing both sides and then asking for my money in ticket sales.' What was your response to that? The poster joining the 'mouth-breathers'? He wrote something you didn't like, and you took a shot..slightly personal shot at him and others (those mouth-breathers) who have expressed the same frustration. Nothing wrong with what he wrote...his opinion, nothing more...but he took a shot at the people responsible for the direction of this team, so you jumped.
  4. You issue seems to be with people being realistic and pissed about what's going on with the team right now...and expressing it.
  5. They don't have our braintrust or our manager :-)
  6. Not sure you quoted my post there, but again...whatever
  7. So these guys go out of their way to create a great site and you keep wishing for sites of old? Seems a bit disrespectful...but whatever
  8. Payroll is gonna drop that much anyway...
  9. Worley has also never pitched more than 135 or so major league innings...and he pitched in the NL
  10. Then why do you keep coming back here? Somebody forcing you?
  11. Wow..he might as well work for the Twin PR department...there has been a full load of carp coming out of the Star Tribune lately...this one dares to tell people how to be fans....and labels certain fans...nouveau.
  12. holding them accountable would be calling B.S. when they gave B.S. answers. Those kind of carpy answers likely wouldn't fly most anywhere else...
  13. Um, seriously? First, the first sentence was just about runner on base...not in scoring position. And I'm sorry...if you don't trust RISP stats, there's really nowhere to go from there. Might as well just say I don't trust any stats that doesn't back up my view. You are, absolutely, the first one I've ever seen to blow off RISP numbers...so you have that going for you...
  14. Team has more question marks than Jim Carrey's Riddler costume...
  15. I'm glad I have boots on.
  16. Right around the time Harden needs it...
  17. He played way, way more 3B than anywhere else last season in the minors and he hasn't played much 3B in the majors cause of Beltre. He only played 3 games in the OF last year while in the minors, and 13 games at 1B. 78 games at 3B. They may have decided to make him a 1B cause Beltre is gonna be at 3B for awhile and likely aren't sold on their 1B.
  18. That was very funny!
  19. Exactly... Mauer drove in 18.1 percent of the runners on base for his plate appearances. Not only did that rank eighth-highest in the entire league, it topped Willingham's mark of 16.3 percent. Mauer converted a higher percentage of his RBI chances than Willingham (even though Willingham had a career year), but Willingham had 45 more runners on base in 26 fewer plate appearances because Mauer was on constantly in front of him.
  20. Isn't that what they were doing last year...isn't it clear what we need...the same thing we've needed for awhile now?
  21. Putting fear into the hearts of lineups everywhere...
  22. You think CF is the only place we take a loss on defense? What about RF? Revere was #1 in UZR/150 for MLB RF...by quite a bit He was 3rd in actual UZR only because he only played 708 innings there. The guy directly ahead of him in actual UZR for RF, played 471 more innings than he did and the guy sitting 1st played 620 more innings than he did. Basically we lost arguably the best defensive RF and also the 3rd best defensive CF in baseball from last year. With this pitch to contact staff, you don't think that's gonna be huge? As far as people expecting Revere to take a step back offensively...based on what? And as far as that 37 year old RF Detroit went and got...does he seem to have missed a beat? He was the 5th ranked defensive RF in the game and had an OPS over .800.
  23. I don't disagree with you on this. That doesn't mean I don't think they're deceptive enough to do it. They've blatantly lied so often, I take everything said by members of the FO with a huge grain of salt...especially Ryan
  24. I wonder where I can pick up my Terry Ryan jersey...
