  1. In the last three years COMBINED, Correia's value was less than 5M. And that's a bit distorted when you figure that last year, his contract year, was worth 4M all by itself.
  2. these kind of comments right here...wow...
  3. Thanks for the info...but you can see why people have issues with signing someone so very low below an ERA+ of 100.
  4. What happens when you look at ERA+ instead of ERA...and not the whole career, but the last three years?
  5. Cough...Pujols...Cough....
  6. Of all the Twins prospects knocking on the MLB door, Arcia is the one I'm most excited to have up here.
  7. Colorado is my second favorite team...so I'd go with them.
  8. MLB.com's Top 100 Prospect list | MLB.com: News
  9. Hicks: 98 Arcia: 93 and those are the only two from 50-100
  10. Aren't most people actually slamming Ryan for being stupid enough to sign him in the first place, as opposed to Correia himself? It's kind of like most people not slamming Punto so much as slamming Gardy's irrational need to play him WAY more than he ever should have? :-)
  11. It's a good thing I read that on an empty stomach :-)
  12. Jim Pohlad also said in rebuilding years, that percentage will drop...which tells me rebuilding years is good for the 'ole pocketbook...
  13. a guy who gives you 180+ innings with an ERA+ at or above 100 is a valuable pitcher.
  14. Yes, and that's why some are having a hard time with the Twins pinching pennies...and why adding 7M a year for the next 3 years doesn't seem like an issue considering where we sit now payroll wise and where we'll be sitting in 2 years after this year payroll-wise.
  15. If they chose to stay at 80M in the future, that will be a self-imposed hamstringing of payroll...and likely wouldn't be in keeping with their supposed 50-52% rule they've told us for so long, which wouldn't be keeping their word when they talked about why the stadium was needed in the first place.
  16. and we lost our table setters...
  17. Nothing wrong with dissenting opinions...but you seemed to think that your post wasn't understood. Saying people need to read what you said and asking another if he could read. We read it, we didn't agree with your position. Even if we kept Morny, it still wouldn't hamstring us in any way.
  18. It's rare a player hits the majors without geniune struggles, period.
  19. Further hamstring? It'd put our payroll at 87M this year...with over 20M coming off the books next year and an additional 10M coming off in 2015. Those players being replaced by pre-arbitration players.
  20. How will that money hurt us this year, or next year, or heck even 2015? What else are they going to do with it?
