  1. Jack Morris was just talking with Ruesse and Pat asked if he would entertain putting on a uniform again. Jack said he'd be interested and entertain that idea, but hadn't been contacted about it yet.
  2. Had TR hired Molitor on Sept 30th, everyone would have popped a cork. Molly won't be naming his coaches tomorrow.
  3. I wonder if this is really a second interview, or just a meeting with Molitor. A courtesy meeting to let him know he's out, or a press conference to follow. I'll go with a press conference coming shortly.
  4. Good choices! And if Plouffe got snubbed, he must of really, really been bad last year.
  5. I nearly included that, dr, but knew the smart posters would understand that!
  6. Good article Seth. It's certainly fun for me to see the Royals sweep whoever takes them on so far. When it comes to patience, KC didn't draw all that well lately and I could care less how many fans the Twins claim go to the games. There probably wasn't a realistic head count in the park all year this year. But the true fans will still remain, and eventually be rewarded. I've stated before that 2018 will be the year, but that could come a year earlier. We should improve a little next year, but '16 should really open some eyes and gather additional fan base. It'll be fun to watch the younger guys grow, and mesh into a team. There'll be growing pains, much like the dieing pains we've gone thru the last 4 years, but at least we will be heading in the right direction.
  7. Good grief!!!!! Sano stays at 3rd. Get rid of Plouffe. He and Willingham in a foot race would end up in a tie. If so many TD posters think Plouffe is that great, maybe someone else in the baseball world also does, and would take him.
  8. Knoblauch and Dozier polar opposites? That thought I don't understand. But Dozier does bring back memories of Knobby. It was surprising the number of runs he scored this season, his OBP had a lot to do with that. But I'd really like him to hit for a higher average, and it should be easy for him to do. I just couldn't understand him trying to pull the ball on all those outer half pitches. If he'd just take those pitches to the right of center anywhere, he'd raise his average while most likely getting to see more meat pitches to drive. He could become an elite hitter using the whole field. Lots of room for improvement there. I enjoy his defense. He's got his own style, but seems to lose concentration for time to time. Still, fun to watch.
  9. I'd say it's 50-50 Chip Hale gets the nod.
  10. Total surprise to me and one I'm not pleased with. Luke, I thought, had done a fine job. He really got along well with his players and they seemed to excel under him. He is a hard worker and loved what he did. I just don't get this. Plus, he's really a good guy. I expected the first to go in the minors would have been Jeff Smith. I hope Terry answers this question, and it best have some reasoning behind it.
  11. I was pulling for KC, the Pirates and Nats. So now, go KC. Those fans are getting their long wait deserved fun! Baltimore has had a great season despite problems. Here's to hope the winner between those two takes it all.
  12. I remember Terry Ryan telling me how he hated to bring up Torii Hunter, because he wasn't ready. He may have the same thoughts here, although that was a long time ago, and 4 90 loss seasons in a row could change that. From what I saw of Buxton this spring, I'd give him at least a month at AA, and if he's having success, bring him up. I wouldn't be afraid to bring Sano north with the break of camp. There'll be a lot of learning to be done but let that be at the highest level. Everyone knows my thoughts on Plouffe, I don't believe he'd be any good in the outfield. I'd trade him for a decent arm for the pen and be done with it. Make a commitment to Sano and let the future begin.
  13. Wow, only 16. I could of flipped a coin and done that.
  14. Gotta get Hughes one more out to reach the incentive. Somehow get him back out there!
  15. 14 errors for Plouffe, which easily could be 20 plus if not a payoff to the scorer. Let's get a big lead, pull Hughes after 5 and feed him to the Tigers on the last day.
  16. Why Hughes? Give the fans that do attend a chance to see a winner. Now, the question is, can Hughes pitch on three day rest?
  17. Gardy mentioned Pinto playing catcher today on the radio. He said Pinto has been working with Steinie daily. Still a lot of work to do. Likes to have Suzuki in against contending teams and Pinto should get more time against Arizona.
  18. The best way the Twins can prevent runs is to quit throwing pitchers out there with sore arms. Nolasco is a good example. Perkins throws bp with a sore arm. Milone, sore arm. Fein most likely has a sore arm. Keep the sore arms off the mound.
  19. At least it won't be him blowing games in the 9th.
  20. 70 wins is a possibility. Vargas has to lay off those pitches from the right side. Come on, Bruno!
  21. Chattanooga is on the way home from Ft Myers, so it looks like that will be my destination on the first day back. I need one of those hats!
  22. I thought Pelfrey would be one of our better pitchers this year. To bad for the injury. But I'd take him over Milone, and give Pelf a good shot at being in the rotation next season. Spring training should tell the tale. Take the best five and go from there. Wins in April count just as much as wins in Sept.
  23. I doubt Doug would be named manager of the Twins. What I could see is Gene Glynn becoming a coach taking over for Ullger, Doug going to AAA and Jake Mauer moving to Ft Myers, with Molitor being named manager. Doug would have a couple years with guys he's already had, and gain more experience at a higher level managing.
