  1. I have'nt really watched Salcedo, but Mark Hamgerger could surprise many.
  2. A couple of walks for Meyer with a k in 1.2, Salcedo bailed him out. He's done a nice job this spring.
  3. Nice game today, not much hitting for us though. Sano made a great play on a bunt that Plouffe would of never came close, but booted a short hop that Plouffe might have made. Kepler made a really nice catch in right and hit a sharp liner to left that was caught. Esco just killed the ball over the centerfielders head to drive in a run, and Mauer had a Mauer liner in the corner for the first run. Nunez did lose his helmet 2 steps around first on his double. New rule here this year, and according to security, it's the only park in MLB with it. You can't leave and come back in. I asked brass why and was told they don't want anyone going out and having a smoke. Nazi's I say! I made it til the bottom of the 8th, and left. Minnesota day too, with a parking lot full of tailgaters.
  4. Allen worked a long time this morning with Stauffer and Gibson on the mound while they were throwing in the pen. Maybe that was what he was doing. It had something to do with the stride.
  5. I talked to a strib writer today and he said he hadn't heard a thing. That he thinks it's just his agent trying to stir things up.
  6. I doubt the Twins will be 2nd from the bottom in team ERA this year. They could move up a big number of spots. That alone means more wins. I can see where Terry can expect a better season this year. Injuries can change that though.
  7. They came out around 9:30 today, the minor leaguers about 8:30. The pitchers were done earlier than the rest of the team today, but it lasted til about noon.
  8. I think Fryer has a leg up on the catchers position. But the Twins do value Herrmann. He's worked hard to learn other positions, shows up early in the spring, and will do whatever it takes to get to the bigs. He's had his taste of MLB and wants more of it. I think he'll but up sometime this season, just depending on injuries and how things shake out.
  9. Looks like the starting lineup all stayed behind today. A great day to be at the park for the 50 or so fans that did come out. Maybe Molitor gave these guys the pass to stay at home since it was a long game last night and there's plenty of road games ahead. Or maybe he wants to see some of the invites play more early in the season and will make cuts sooner than Gardy did. But the guys that did stay back worked hard. I watched Trevor May throw live bp on one field, don't know who threw on the other. It's hot already, and will be a hot one up in Port Charlotte.
  10. I wonder if the pickoff attempts came from the bench?
  11. And now the fireworks blasting away. I can see them from the driveway.
  12. I missed it. Running with his head up or down?
  13. So who do we send to the mound next?
  14. Back to a 2 run lead. It might take double digits to get a leg up on the mayors cup.
  15. Have you seen him play? I have and don't think his defense needs work. I'd rather see him up than down and break a thumb or something a month into the season.
  16. I was all for Mauer moving to 3rd base last year, he could do it and has taken plenty of reps there. But there's a reason he didn't, and that reason is not named Plouffe.
  17. Plouffe played a bad third base for a couple years and still is not very good. I just may keep track of the errors I see this year that he isn't credited for. The Twins put up with this. Sano plays decent at the corner, works hard and just keeps getting better. He should stick at that position. He hasn't played for over a year, so when he gets back into the routine and ready, bring him up and play him everyday.
  18. That's not near true. There are 24 other names on that 25 man roster. Things have changed. Besides Pelfrey, if he's the fifth starter, of the 24 names would you eliminate in order not to field a horrible veteran team?
  19. So the writer mentions Pinto decision on his defense when I thought TR said it depended on his offense. Different opinions all over the place for so many guys.
  20. So I was told while watching the minor leaguers this morning that there is a meal at 5 tonight for fans with a ticket, but the ticket window knows nothing about it, and I can find anything on line about it. The Twins have a meeting at 3 this afternoon and then will hit the fields for practice.
  21. I'm just hoping they don't start charging the 10 bucks for parking til noon at least. They are greedy here for the money. Only 4 infielders listed, so more than that will play. I might go get me a ticket.
  22. Brand spanking new uniforms today, blue jerseys with white pants and a new hat. It was quite a fashion show today. I watched Adam Brett Walker 111 launch a bunch of balls into the high school parking lot, and followed Nick Gordon for awhile. Nice day at the park. Torii was here and Trevor May too so it must be a quick flu.
