  1. In all fairness to Park, when he showed up this spring he was terrible taking batting practice. But after a week or so he started hitting, and hitting it hard. Hopefully the regular season will follow suit.
  2. Bat Mauer 2nd and he grounds into a double play. Sometimes nothing seems to go right.
  3. I wasn't going to watch any more games til they won one, but had to tune in yesterday to see how Nolasco would do. It was worth it..........til he got lifted. Actually flipped the channel when Perkins came in, but flipping back and forth I did witness the blow. Not sure what to do today.
  4. Jeff Smith's got himself a very nice starting rotation there. It shouldn't take a lot of runs to win plenty of ball games this season.
  5. Sano doesn't want to play right field. Not sure you'll see a lot of improvement there.
  6. Dozier hasn't learned to use the whole field, and it's hurting us badly. Way to many chances to score and we come up empty. That has to change.
  7. Sano's slide into 2nd base had me worried. My ankle would have been twisted or broken on that. I see them take sliding drills in SP, but on the outfield grass, not the basepaths.
  8. The Lookouts fans should be excited about this team, as there's much talent here to draw interest. I was really impressed with Vielma this spring and the fans may never see another SS with that kind of defensive talent. Maybe with a year with Tommy Watkins will help him on the offense side. Palka can leave the park at any time, and should roll up a lot of rbi. I'm hoping Wimmers can get back on a roll, as he has in the past and have a good year. Maybe the pen will work for him. Doug coaches like every game is the WS, so these guys that haven't played for him are in for a treat. Should be a good season in Chattanooga
  9. I'm going with the P;s, Perkins, Park, Plouffe
  10. Berrios struck out the side in the 1st, gave up a couple of hits in the 2nd and got out of the jam. Kintzler started the other game.
  11. I've seen Nolasco's last two games. He does not need to go, and if you had seen them you'd agree. IMO he's winning the spot in the rotation thus far. If he can keep pitching like he has been he could win a lot of games this year.
  12. No surprise in going to the pen. He'll be more valuable there, and hopefully get us to the 9th. It's the closer that worries me, and I'd give May even odds that he takes over that spot to regaining a spot in the rotation.
  13. Walks. The first pitcher got lifted after filling the bases, and the reliever walked the first 2 he faced.
  14. They play games at 1pm against each other on Sunday, Monday and Tue., and then start playing other teams Wednesday. The rosters and schedule are in a box on the wall outside of the minor league offices.
  15. If there's any platooning to be done with Arcia it will be with Park. I say Arcia is a lock to make the team, Park isn't.
  16. Terry Ryan talked about that during the first game with Gladden and Provus. He said Polanco was serviceable at 2nd, ss, and 3rd and could play in the outfield.
  17. Rosario has pitched before this spring. He looks good, who knows he could make a late season appearance for us.
  18. Any extension for Plouffe turns my stomach. I can see Sano and possibly Gibson.
  19. I remember asking AJ one spring why he didn't call more fastballs for LaTroy, as they were hitting his other pitches pretty well the year before. His answer was that anyone can hit a fastball.
  20. I was at the fields that day and it was very, very quiet.
  21. Yesterday after batting practice the team had what they hope is the starting outfield on one of the half fields getting talked to by a coach. Rosario, Buxton and Sano.
