  1. Rooker has Goldschmidt upside. Maybe not Goldy but Goldy light. Speed-power guy, with emphasis on power. The only question will be contact. But there were multiple exit velo readings in the 108 mph+ range. He OPS'ed north of 1.300. He's a good bet to win the Golden Spikes which, you all should look up the names of recent winners.
  2. The MLB board isn't the be all end all. After the first 20-25 picks it becomes a pretty rough prospect guide. Have you been watching all these players taken today, and seen how many of them were previously drafted? There is a ton of talent that goes unsigned every year. If the Twins sign everyone they draft that is a huge win. High schoolers in the mid-late rounds can be very touch to sign so having the spending power will be big. I like Carlson too but taking him would be putting first round eggs in one pitching basket which is a huge risk. Instead, with the savings they can spread the risk around a dozen or more arms if they want to. High beta guys. There's going to be plenty of ceiling there too. But there's no ceiling if they don't sign.
  3. I think in retrospect the "boom" meant Rooker's bat. Which produced a 1.318 OPS in the SEC. He's a good bet to win the Golden Spikes award.
  4. Carlson would have been nice but it would have cost pretty much all their savings from the Lewis pick. Canning's got health issues. Dunno about Enlon. I mean they didn't take the 500th ranked prospect, they took the 101st. And obviously its not going to be the same board anyways. They have the spending power going into day two to do some things. I think they're going for and getting good value to stay flexible and sign everyone they draft, which should be priority one IMO.
  5. This is good. I'm pretty happy. Didn't get my guy Adell but should have plenty of $$$ to sign all teh high school arms. Load up!
  6. Well, didn't see that coming. Leach is youuuung. Won't turn 18 for another month.
  7. I doubt he'd tweet it if he didn't know. The difference in slot is only $100k so probably not.
  8. Not according to Doogie. Seems unlikely they would take him 37 and not 35 if they had a deal. Unless the Marlins were interested in Rooker maybe.
  9. Carlson sticks out like a sore thumb tho. We'll see, still 11 more picks to go.
  10. Kendall falls, finally. That's pretty much everyone from MLB.com's top 20, except Canning who had medical issues I guess and... Carlson.
  11. Couple of interesting picks. Yanks take mlb.com's 49th ranked player who went down with TJS in April. M's take another high contact college bat. Definitely seems to be a trend here.
  12. Baz taken right where MLB.com predicted. How far will Kendall and JB fall?
  13. Damn, was kinda hoping Burger would fall. Good pick for the Sox.
