  1. Well the A's parted with AJ Cole in a 3 way deal involving Mike Morse last offseason. Not a perfect comp, Willingham has 3 years on Morse and is owed more money for a year longer, but both are similarly productive, lousy defense righthanded corner bats. Might be the Ms just wouldn't have parted with Jaso to get him and so a Hammer deal never got off the ground. Twins certainly could have sweetened the pot though, and maybe Jr just wasn't willing. Impossible to know for sure.

  3. Ozzie! Waldo! La Gringa - Silvestre Dangond - YouTube edit: this is Ozzie's walkup music. La Gringa. I'm guessing, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, that that's the female for "gringo."
  4. Interesting listening to the YES broadcast tonight. Game started and there was a real subdued, almost chilly chemistry between Ken Singleton and john Flaherty. I got the feeling they weren't used to traveling together without Michael Kay and/or Al Leiter. But in the process of routing the Twins, they've really warmed to each other!
  5. Come on Pressly. Doesn't get any lower leverage than this.
  6. Dazzle or Provus? Because there's sort of a gap there.
  7. This is totally unrelated but the headline gave me a chuckle Dying Kid In Houston Holding On Until Astros Develop Player Worth Meeting | The Onion - America's Finest News Source Remember, when TWins failures get you down, there's always the Astros
  8. Sheesh, at least give us the courtesy of grunting once in a while Robinson
  9. Are you talking to us or did Ken Rosenthal tweet that?
  10. I have no idea who this is. Is he older or younger than Doris Day at 93?
  11. Well at least you have that mighty 96.3 FM signal to ride with you all the way down to Richfield.
  12. Come on Sam, you know that gatorade cooler's just asking for it
  13. Clearly Parmelee and Hicks are jonesing for more PT
  14. 1.95m into 2 players. So the balance on their pool at this point is 300,700, correct?
  15. Timing his comeback for the 2015 playoffs. Yankees vs. The Next Great Twins Team
  16. 0-2 you gotta throw those curveballs in the dirt man
  17. Don't know if anyone else caught this. Doogy says the Twins like Hughes this offseason.

  19. Believe it or not Florimon's strong side is his right side. According to both coaches and his minor league stats. I'm not sure if that's a really good thing, or a really bad thing.
  20. I assume ownership aren't frontloading contracts for 2 reason: interest lost, and the potential for a snowball effect of establishing higher baselines for payroll quicker. The inflation of player salaries is something ownership wants to forestall, not accelerate.
  21. Burton isn't the wrong guy to be facing lefties. You look at the splits of guys who are heavily dependent on changeups and they're usually nil or slightly opposite and that includes Burton. But, Burton's not had his best stuff against righties or lefties in quite a while. I'd "demote" him to 4th or 5th inning guy until/if he can get his groove back on. edit: I'd also add, that when you can't throw your changeup in the dirt because your catcher can't block pitches worth a darn, then you are sort of stuck between a rock and a hard place.
