Antony talked to Provus before the game today. He insisted Pelfrey's velocity problem was mechanical, not physical. I assume a drop like that has to be physical but, maybe Parker has spotted something?
I get the bit but I honestly don't understand where this comes from. You would think the entire state is filled with morning news anchors and that just hasn't been my experience (and I've lived here my whole life).
Oh yeah. Forgot about the tolls. Man I am glad we don't have to deal with those here. And this is coming from someone who didn't buy his first car till last December.
I like Holmes a lot too but Touki has the edge in the curveball and changeup, as I understand it (although Holmes' curve is pretty damn sick). Holmes does look pretty close to a finished product though whereas Touki would definitely be a bit of a project. In my mind it comes down to a question of - who trusts their coaches? Who is confident in their player development? That is the team who stands to strike the motherload.
On the other hand - you wonder how bad his command is if he's losing strikes because the umps can't track his hammer and his catchers can't catch it (much less frame it). I'd love to see a tryout where he throws to a decent backstop and then let's see how bad his command actually is.
