  1. Sometimes you need to stick with guys as they work through their slumps. I'm not sure this is one of those times with Pelfrey. Given the precipitous drop in velo, I think its likely that his problems are physical, not mental or mechanical.
  2. Sinkerballers work better when they are a little tired and don't throw so hard -Nick Blackburn
  3. Watching on gameday here and there. Looks like he's working up in the zone again?
  4. Answer: Move Plouffe to SS. Move Mauer to 3B. Sign Morales to play 1B.
  5. Well Plouffe, like Dozier, spent most of his minor league time as a SS. Sano used to be a SS too but you have to go back further.
  6. In the 2nd half last year I saw a guy with a borderline overpowering fastball. I thought he was healed, and 2014 would start as 2013 ended, but instead his fastball has been slow and lifeless. That is not good when you throw 81% fastballs. Right now I would take Deduno, Meyer, or even May over Pelfrey.
  7. Ugh, you can hear the rubes jeering Mauer. All he did was get two hits and a walk today. But fail to hit a game winning HR in the 9th? Nuh-uh. BOOOOOO
  8. I mean, it boils down to odds. Even when Plouffe gets "his pitch" its still only got a ~.200 BABIP. Versus his OBP when getting to 3-0, which is .962. http://i.imgur.com/OrTf0HT.jpg You're down 4. You're the tying run. Colabello and Pinto are hitting behind you. Take the dang walk.
  9. That pitch was in Plouffe's wheelhouse. http://i.imgur.com/S6Qo9lM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/2A8XrxP.jpg
  10. How can Gardy-Andy can be so uptight about handing out walks but then on the hitting side he gives guys the green light on 3-0
  11. Middle-in, belt high? I think he got it.
  12. I'm sure the sportwriters in this town will be lauding Plouffe tomorrow for making the brave choice to swing on 3-0 because, there were RISP
  13. Too long edit: Ok 4 run lead I guess a double isn't necessarily the end of the world for the Dodgers
  14. "Hm I could have swore I got 6 Dilly Bars." ... "RB where are the Dilly Bars?" http://cdn1.akamai.coub.com/coub/simple/cw_gif_big/bd89a9847be/3cb7f79787bc0ba047597/1389292605_ijlc6m_d6xe.gif
  15. Not bad http://i.imgur.com/hHlcv2O.gif
  16. I was going to go today but Stubhub wasn't authenticating credit cards at about 4:30 PM (which is a heck of a time to stop considering sales close 2 hrs before game time). Anybody else try to get tickets for today's game? That's what I thought.
  17. Makes about as much sense as Lakers when you put it that way
  18. I guess that brings the Suzuki runs cost/gained ledger back to zero
  19. Must have expected Puig to field it.
  20. DruBu, HanRam, Agon (Agonze?), CarCraw, am I missing any?
  21. I think Bert cracked a hard boiled egg on the mic
  22. That was a heckuva stop by Suzuki
