    Agreed, if he is not our starter to begin the seaon then i hope he is the long reliever as i expet no less then 2 pitchers being hurt nd out for the season and at least another not having the stuff to keep his spot...isnt Samuel a 3 year player? if he is he should have an opt out contract that is required for all mlb players with 3 year srvice time .o me if you keep Drew on the 40 man and let Samuel walk then your seeing the intelegence level of the powers that be.

    The numbers show around 15 home runs per 500 at bats, is that enough o justify playing 1b?

    Me thinks it depends on how other perform , like Dozier, escobar and florimon...

    At 5 foot 10 inches and with only 47 homeruns in over 1700 at bats , he is not what you think of as a power hitting 1b man , more of a Dougie Alphabet type

    If Samuel Deuno doesnt make the starting 5 , I hope we use him as a long reliever or spot starter , till the suspects fail.

    With Berrois and Burris in single A , Meyer and May in AA, and hopeuly a quality college pitcher as our 1st pick...2015 we could have a problem with to many quality starters....

    Well limite walks, limite baserunners, limite runs scored against, All kidding aside, Liam will get his shots this year as well as Devries and Deuno me thinks,as we have 1 shoulder problem (harden) 2 T.J.s(Pelfrey n Gibson) and 3 chippers(worely,diamond, and liam ) so I will continue to believe there will be plenty of tickets leaving Rochester this season

    First and foremost , a big Jim Thome fan , but as a bench player for the twins, there just isint enough room for him, Escobar and Butrea, so unless Gardy and Ryan completly change directions of the Titanic and sign a 42 year old 70 at bat player , while demoting a pair of scrubs who are favorites of both the manager and general manager it is highly unlikely

    Agreeing, since Ronald has been manager , we have never seen the guy with the best spring win a job ... the decisions were made the previous October in most cases

    Lets take a closer look at your 12 start prediction, 2 tommy johns 3 chip removal and 1 shoulder injury, Im guessing you could pencil in 12 starts for about 9 pitchers this year ....

    In rochestor he could be a dh or pinch hitter ...while waiting for a september call up.. Also im guessing in september we will all need something to gain our interest again.

    Personally we could sign Thome as a coach either in rochestor (player coach) or as a bench coach here in the bigs and then activate him in september for a goodbye tour...
