    Was listening to the game on the way home from the airport. When I got far enough south to lose the FM signal I searched AM and the first feed I got was the White Sox. So I had them for innings 5,6 and 7. And I can safely say they had a man crush on Jose Berrios. The Twins hitters were hitting the ball in the right direction to gain as much wind help as possible. It was really kind of fun listening to them when Mike Pelfrey was pitching. They were discussing how good of stuff he had but it was always 3-1 or 2-0 counts. They said there were pitchers with not nearly as good of stuff as him but could get batters out. it all seemed so familiar to the time s he pitched for the Twins.

    Made the trek to Cedar Rapids yesterday. I wanted to see Royce Lewis play and got lucky to see his first Midwest league homer! I thought he looked smooth in the field, no spectacular plays but showed nice soft hands and a strong arm. Looked very fundamentally sound, early in the game with a runner on first Beloit hit one past a diving third baseman and he hustled over and covered third. The runner beat the throw but Lewis was in the right place.

    I would change that to Gimenez moved to the bullpen, as it looks like they will need him there often.

    I am not big on any trade with the ChiSox. Looking at Gordon 19 times a year for the next 6 years is just a bit too much and then you have to throw in a couple of others who may very well turn into mlb players who could become core replacements for the Twins.

    This is the kind of deal I was hoping to see Falvey make, improve the major league roster at minimal risk.

    The puzzling part would be promotion based on poor performance. That message would certainly ring hollow on other Twins prospects in Cedar Rapids.

    It still seems odd to me that there is discussion about the potential of Rosario over the production of Dozier. Dozier is on pace to be a 40/40 guy, but of course potential is more important. I realize that he probably wont make the 40/40 club but he has a better chance of that than a guy that is suspended in the minor leagues.

    I still would like the Twins to acquire Homer Bailey but this article points out just how lucky some teams were to not acquire Eric Bedard in 2008. Chris Tillman? He was the kicker, the added piece that pushed the teams to sign the paperwork. The names floating around should raise some eyebrows such as Matt Kemp, Clayton Kershaw, and Jonathan Broxton from the Dodgers or Cameron Maybin and Andrew Miller from the Tigers. an SB Nation post from December of 2007 claims that “a Reds insider is 75 percent sure the Reds will deal Josh Hamilton, Homer Bailey, and Joey Votto to the Baltimore Orioles for Erik Bedard.” Maybe I will push for him next year as a free agent.
